Pin It & Did It + Link Up Time

Hello, Lovelies! Monday seems to come ever so quickly. Does it seem that way for you? I feel as though weekends fly by especially has the holiday season draws near and there is more items on my to-do list. This year I want to focus on living in the moment of the season and savoring it instead of being consumed with busyness. This will take intentionality for sure! These Mondays will keep arriving faster and faster I think!

One way to be a little more on top of that forever question, “What should I wear today?” is to have some easy go-to looks pinned on a Pinterest board. Currently, I have a few boards for favorite looks and for fall, which are easy stopping places for me to grab some inspiration. This is exactly what I did for today’s look.

a78d8bbc9531c4b5ed3916ab63eefe0aWhat caught my eye from this look was the buffalo plaid mixed with a neutral sweater. I like the contrast and could picture myself wearing this type of look. This led me to my closet to find a look from own pieces.

I have similar pieces so I used the Pinterest look as inspiration rather than simply copying. My plaid is a smaller size, which works better for me as a petite. Because the plaid is smaller I opted for a boyfriend sweater and kept the jeans dark and skinny. I tried the look with booties but preferred these menswear shoes. I’ve been crushing on them a lot lately for a few reasons: {1} my legs keep a little more length because they don’t cut me off like over the ankle booties can do {2} the neutral color is perfect with most looks {3} they have a pointed toe which also elongates the look my legs.

I wore this when my hubster treated to me breakfast on Saturday morning. I grabbed the bag I’m currently carrying and wondered if it was the best choice with this look. I went with it because I didn’t feel like changing it out that morning.

Pinterest is such a great tool to use to boost your style options. Some of the best ways to utilize Pinterest I’ve found:

  • for inspiration to remix and use your current pieces
  • outfit ideas for shopping trends {blanket scarves, booties, etc.}
  • outfit ideas for certain/special occasions {weddings, prom, showers, etc.}
  • outfit ideas for a particular color or piece {gray sweater/fur vest/leopard print etc.}

When you Pinterest you totally have the freedom to completely copy the look or adjust it for your look.
