Let’s Be Grateful

Gratitude. Sometimes I’m not very grateful for what I have been given. This means that I can be a lousy steward of my time and resources. That in turn creates a lousy feeling and attitude within me. I don’t like it one bit. Therefore I want to be different. I want to be conscious of the time and resources I have to live these few days and years that I walk this earth.

I realize I have a choice in how I think and act each day. I know some days I just want to wallow in self-pity or be grumpy. Again, my choice and my consequences to endure. But when I choose to recognize my immense blessings that changes everything. I long to choose to be grateful.

I’ve thought about writing down in my planner something I’m grateful for each day. I also searched out apps that will help me to remember to do that because I’d love to recall that at the end of each month. Guess what? There are a couple that I downloaded to try to you can follow the links to get more details about them.

Gratitude 365

This app is fairly basic and will definitely help you keep track of things that you are grateful for each day.

Grid Diary

This is the app that I’m using because it actually has questions to prompt you to think about and assess your day. I need those prompts to get my mind working along those lines. I think this app will train me to be thinking differently and that will be super helpful as I try to think on those things for which I’m grateful for each day.

Also, my friends Shaunacey who blogs at Confessions of a Frumpy Mommy (and by the way is NOT frumpy one bit), has a Monday link-up to recount gratitude. I hope you’ll stop by and see who has linked up and what everyone is grateful for because gratitude does change everything. Let’s be grateful in 2016. It’s a choice!

Since it’s the year of words, I pinned some great quotes to inspire you! What do you have to be grateful for today?

It's always important to remember to be grateful. I always try to focus on the little things that happen and try to remember that everything happens for a reason! Christina :: Simple and Delish
    • So true! Thinks do happen for a reason - great perspective!
  • I agree...gratitude is so very important. I made a painting that hangs in a very visible spot in our house so when we're coming and going the message can be remembered: When you love what you have you have everything you need
    • I think I've seen that hanging in your house in a photo. That is one of the quotes I love! It's so true!
  • Yes, gratitude, I had to remind myself of that last night when I was getting frustrated with the kids and had to stop and calm myself before really blowing up at them, thinking be grateful, some people can't even yell at their kids because they don't have them to yell at...Love that app and how it gives you prompts...
    • I think the app is so engaging and causes me to think outside of the box. I need prompts is what the truth is!
  • Oh, I never even thought of trying to find an app to help me practice gratitude, how smart! I'm trying to be more grateful this year too, and there's a spot in my planner for "daily gratitude" so I'm trying to write something down every day. Life gets busy and it's easy to take things for granted, I'm trying hard not to!
    • Life does get busy and it's so easy to forget all we have been given. What planner do you use?
      • I have a Day Designer, which I just started using for the first time this year. I like it!
