Don’t you just love the start of a New Year? Something about a new and fresh is exciting to me. It helps that so many other bloggers are of the same mindset. I love reading posts about goals, planning, organizing and words of the year. It just gets me pumped!
I have been thinking, planning and organizing myself. I’ve thought about a word for the year but I’m not sure about that. But, as I was planning this weekend a few words came into my mind. The two that stand out the most were others and refocus. I thought those were defining for my life and this blog. My desire is to make this little blog more focused out to others and in order to do that I’m refocusing. This is my hope for 2017 that I will focus outward to others while sharing my heart with you in new and different ways.
What’s on my heart right now?
1. Blogging is on my heart and mind a lot right now. The {refocus} is in full swing and it’s funny how post ideas are constantly going through my head. I’m excited and refreshed after taking a break last summer. As I slowly started to regain my footing in the fall, I realized I wanted to re-brand with a new name that really fits where I want to go. Although I love style and creating style posts, it’s not my only love. I think I’m about done tweaking for now as I’ve tried to put everything in understandable categories. I still would like a new theme but that will be in the future. Not today, as I used to say to my students.
2. Beachbody is also on my heart. I feel as though I’m starting get my rhythm as a coach. I really want to help people create a healthy life and be fit. The older I get, the more I wish I would have started working out when I was younger. I wish I knew 10 years ago what I know today about the horrors of the food industry. For me, I hope to be helping lots of people {others} this year to achieve their health and fitness goals.
3. Beautycounter entered my life in late 2016. I was googling about safer skincare and it popped up. I read some posts and reviews which made me curious. I reached out and a consultant got in touch with me pronto. I met up with her and received a basket of items to try. I was super impressed with her and the product lines, which included skincare and cosmetics. They had a fabulous Black Friday sale and I placed an order. I am beginning to see some freshness in my skin which I believe is a direct result of less toxins in their products. More refocusing on the healthy lifestyle means not just food and exercise but removing other toxins from my life. Here’s my product reveal video.
4. Bible {listed last but really the most important} reading is something I have slacked off in lately. Truth is I really need to refocus here. If I’m being honest and sharing my heart, I can tell that my heart has gotten hard to lots of things because I have not been letting the Lord soften it. This has got to change. I’m thinking about this verse lately from Luke because I’m appalled by some of what I’ve heard come out of my mouth. For me I’m off to work on my heart, which needs time with the Lord and some refocusing.
...for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush. The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
~ Luke 6:44-45
Have the BEST day, friends!
