My Picks: Small & Local Businesses

Hey there sweet ASFit Friends! I’m grateful to be here today on this second Monday of the new year. The first full week of January 2019 was much of a bust for me. I wound up losing my cookies at work on Tuesday and headed home. The fun continued until Wednesday evening when my hubby loaded me up and took me to a local ER so I could get some fluids. An IV and meds and by Thursday morning I was up and at ‘em. Crazy isn’t it? I’m learning that I dehydrate quite easily despite being an avid water drinker. The only way to get me back into commission again is with an IV. That’s my life and I’m learning to accept this is just how I’m currently wired. Thankful for the great care I received and hoping all is covered with my insurance.

And there you go. Now you know why I was absent much of last week. But, I’m back and crazy excited about linking up with my gal pals at The Blended Blog. Today it’s about local/small businesses. Oh, how I love this topic and how it fits into a few things I’m focusing on this year…supporting small and local business.

First up is a sweet little business north of the border {for us US dwellers} anyway. Brand Squawk is my new favorite and go-to for graphics. I have two graphics from Brand Squawk and a LOVE them to pieces. Collette has the best sayings on her pieces and picks the softest, coziest material. My new favorite is this one.

Why do I love this hoodie? Because the verbiage is true! I overthink about everything in my life. This little perfectionism causes me struggles with making decisions almost on a daily basis. Hoping I can work on that this year too!

Hold on, I’ve gotta overthink about it, can be found here.

My first Brand Squawk tee was this one. True, right? All things are possible with coffee and mascara! I wear this comfy tee too more often than I’m willing to admit!

Please stop by and support Collette at Brand Squawk. She is supportor of World Bicycle Relief Organization and gives back with our purchases. Together we rise, friends!

Collette adds new pieces all the time, so be sure to stop by and check out her online store. I promise you’ll find something to love. She has generously offered a discount to my readers. You can use the code stylishfit20 for 20% off your order. Support small biz // support the ladies!

Second up is a local business that is run by a husband and wife team. They started making soap in their little home and quickly out grew it. The Lion Bear Naked Soap Co. is both small and local. These entrepreneurs are the sweetest couple and we love their soap. Good news is now they are more than just local and ship their products. Give them a try. Their products are fabulous and the prices are too!

Third up is a local artisan and business gal. This one is a previous student who I taught when she was in high school. She studied graphic design in college and then discovered pottery. It was a cosmic crash of love and she left for England to study the craft. When she {Diana} returned home she started her own pottery business. Go check her out her online store here.

Those are my top three. I truly hope you’ll stop by and check out each one. Small businesses are an important part of our economy and I truly love the spirit and heart of an entrepreneur. Looking forward to linking up with The Blended Blog and reading about other small and local businesses too.

Have the best day!

Hugs, Carrie
