Faith on Friday #8 - Interrupted

One of my goals this month is to read the book Interrupted by Jen Hatmaker. I picked it up last week and have been reading it ever since. Jen is a witty and hysterical conversational writer. Yet she is genuine and honest, two qualities which are very endearing to me. I don't really care if you're a hot mess but just be honest about it. I mean pretending to be what you're not doesn't make you what you want to be. Right? Right! Basically, Jen tells the story of how her life got interrupted by ... Continue Reading...

Faith on Friday #7 - Act - Love - Walk

Hello again...I know I haven't posted on Fridays in a couple of weeks. My current theology class has been kicking my rear end and I just haven't had enough time for everything. A major book critical review, reading one more book, and a final exam were eating my lunch every.single.day. BUT, I finished! I even finished ahead of my goal which means I have the entire month of August to not study {at least not on the schedule of someone else}. Are you wondering about that title Act - Love - Walk ... Faith on Friday #6 - Peacemaker

This week I have been thinking on what it means/looks like to be a peacemaker. As I am studying through the Sermon on the Mount series with She Reads Truth, I was given this verse to commit to memory: "Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God." Matthew 5:9 I have found it so interesting that this verse "popped up" just about the time I found some major conflict going on among people {my friends} on Facebook. I could not believe what a few people were posting ... Continue Reading...

Faith on Friday #5 - Celebrating the 4th

Independence Day, July 4th, Celebrate Freedom...today the USA celebrates our independence with parades, burgers, hot dogs, watermelon, family, friends and of course fireworks. There will be fireworks tonight in communities all across the country. It's a day to remember and be grateful for freedoms that we typically take for granted. I am thankful to be an American but not in a prideful way or with an air of superiority. No, I simply love my country because it is my home while I live here on this ... Continue Reading...

Faith on Friday #4

A couple of weeks ago I had a little confession time with what was going on in my heart and life regarding blogging. I was convicted about the direction I was going with the blog and knew the road I was traveling was not good for me. I just could sense something "not right" and knew I needed to make a change. As I have begun to work through that and change my focus, I have had so much peace in my heart and in my life. Then what happened after that was truly amazing to me. I read two blog ... Faith on Friday #3

The other morning I woke up and I immediately had {a little girl} on my mind. Actually, as I opened my eyes, I could only remember Maria but I knew that just wasn't quite right. I got up, showered and then it hit me, her name was Ana-Maria. So who is Ana-Maria? Back in 2000 I went on a mission trip to Romania. During my time in that country and trudging through the little villages, I met Ana-Maria. It was a strange encounter because our team was out in a village to meet with some families who ...
