Spring Style Me Challenge ~ Day 10-16 + a Link-up

The Spring Style Me Challenge continues at Get Your Pretty On. As the challenge continues, I am again realizing how I can continue to purge down my wardrobe. I stopped at a local clothing resale store this past weekend and parted with a few items that I had been hanging on to. They rejected some but not all of them as they did last time I was there. I left with a little less clothing and little more money in my pocket. As I left, I felt like it was a win! As I thought more about it, I decided I would part with a few more like items on Sunday. Guess what? They bought those also. Saturday + Sunday = a great win for my purging and developing a better more remixable wardrobe. Which leads me to the challenge - it has been a great opportunity to work on remixing.

This week I’m linking up again with my fellow challenge ladies. I’m posting Days 10-16. Below is what was suggested to wear and what I wore. Some days I drifted in the unsafe waters of my own decisions and though it sounded good in my head, it didn’t always translate on my body the way I envisioned. But, lessons are being learned and I am enjoying understanding my style and mixing pieces better with each outfit.

Please check out the lovely ladies below and give them some blogger love. And if you want to enter the Celebration Giveaway for my friend Alex at Undergraduate Style who reached the 200 milestone on her blogging journey go here. It’s a $50 gift card to Target. Spring Transitions & Life Transitions + A Giveaway

Remix.Rewear.Restyle. My Monday tradition linking up at Greater than Rubies is here. This week the remix is spring transition pieces. I was a little stumped what I should put together for this one. But as I put together some simple to wear to church I realized that was it. It is simple and yet a little springy, transitional and even versatile.

This is actually what I wore to church. I think it works for a spring day prior to really warm temps in Texas. I am beginning to understand the importance of statement jewelry and even animal print flats to add a little pop to an outfit. When I got home I did a little swapping out and thought the next outfit was a good option for spring transition as well. And that basic white tank, yeah, I rescued that from the purge pile. What was I thinking? Who gives away a perfectly good white tank? Apparently, this girl was going to before I came to my senses. My goodness, I wonder sometimes what I’m thinking…

By the way, this is the same sweater that I wore the last week with the brown dress. Two options {plus how many unknown are still lurking out there in my closet} already with that little coral number.

Although this remix is focused on transition pieces, I have to confess that my husband and I are in the middle of life transitions as well. Today was the first Sunday of a new church plant in our city. North Point Church will be our new church home. You can read about it here. We are excited to see how the Lord will grow and shape us and the others who have committed to join this church plant. Previously, we assisted for a short time with another church plant in our city. Christ Community Church’s information can be found here. We have blessed for years through Denton Bible Church and look forward to our teaching and training being put to use along new avenues. So you see, our spring is definitely a time of transitions. Good and exciting transitions that have us embracing just how blessed we are and have been by our Lord.

Last week, I was nominated for a Liebster Award. Thank you, Lana who blogs at Two Teens and Their Mama for this nomination. I am grateful. After checking out Lana’s blog for the details and doing a little research, it appears that this award is given to new bloggers who have less than 500 or 200 followers {I read both numbers}. Friday Lovelies + Another Co-Hosting

Friday! This week has been incredibly busy for me and so I’m very thankful I can see the glimpse of the weekend in sight. I’m excited to be co-hosting again. This time it’s with Renae at Simple Sequins. Go check out her blog - it’s fantastic. I hope you’ll follow her! Maybe you want to co-host with her {highly recommend it ~ she’s great to work with}.

Typically, I try to post my favorites for the week on Friday. My goal is to have a Top 5 but this week I’m going to mix all five together and share about one main favorite and the five reasons it’s just tops for me this week.

Do you know where I’m going with this? It’s the Spring Style Me Challenge at Get Your Pretty On…of course! Here’s why, friends. (1) Community~it’s been a lovely experience meeting ladies from all over the US & Canada working through how to style their clothing. Sweetness + encouragement = being blessed. And what I mean by that is the ladies genuinely desire good for each other. (2) Challenge~I have been challenged to mix my clothes and wear things differently. I love that in the end that causes me to be a better steward of the resources I have. (3) Choices~someone else is making the choice of what I’m wearing each day. I have found some freedom in that concept. It does make it easier to get dressed for the work day in the morning rush. (4) Conversations~our Facebook group is quite active with conversations about what each is wearing. You can even get a heads up for sales events, what the best tank or tee or shoe out there in the marketplace or internet. (5) Connections~for me, I feel like I am connecting with people that I would love to have as friends {you know real friends that you drink coffee with at Starbucks}. What’s exciting is some of us who live close to one another are actually going to meet up for dinner one evening next week. That is completely awesome!

Well, there’s my top five for the Spring Style Me Challenge. How about joining in for the Summer Style Me Challenge? Here’s the details.

Here’s my two favorite looks from the challenge so far. I love these and will wear them often in the future. This challenge pushed me to try these looks and I’m oh so glad I did!

Also linking up today at Style Elixir.

Style Me Challenge Re-cap

Today is so exciting! Why? Because I am sharing the outfits from the Spring Style Me Challenge from Get Your Pretty On. The challenge began last Monday and I did post the first three outfits last Wednesday. Today I’m posting outfits from Day 4-Day 9 with what I wore once the outfits were revealed.

This little challenge has been so much fun for me. Along with other challenges that I often participate in on a regular basis, I am beginning to love my own wardrobe. I find myself more content with what I have because I can remix things and force myself out of a familiar box of style. I am learning to love mixing patterns, adding scarves and wearing color pants. But one area that I have always struggled in is having clothes hug my body. I just feel uncomfortable or self-conscience or unattractive. But what I have found with mixing my wardrobe up and especially with mixing patterns is that I feel more confident and less self-conscience of my imperfections. This is a great step forward. A huge blessing!

And do you know what makes a challenge even better? Friends! People…ok real people who I’m sharing experiences with via the web but it’s genuinely a sweet and precious atmosphere. How great is it to be doing this challenge with ladies from all over the US and Canada? It makes my heart just rejoice! So if you like people…I hope you like people! Then scroll down to the end of end of this post and click on some other bloggers who are participating in the challenge. We are linking up togehter here as well. Oh, enjoy in the photos and the blogs. Breathe in that beauty of everyone’s creativity.
