A Brilliant Smile Review

Red, White and Blue has been the theme of oodles of posts lately and rightly so with the 4th of July celebrations happening in a few days. Wouldn’t any red, white and blue outfit looks better with white teeth? I think so! Fortunately, I’m happy to reveal that my teeth will be much whiter thanks to a product I have been testing called Smile Brilliant. Looks interesting and professional doesn’t it? It is truly a great product! Read on and I’ll explain how I know.

Full-Kit-3TW-3DS-a

I have never been one of those people who have had naturally super white teeth even in my younger days. I also indulge myself in several cups of strong coffee everyday, which has had a definite yellowing effect on my teeth. Add to that the day a sweet little girl at church whispered in my ear and told me my teeth were green. Okay, so she was three and my teeth weren’t actually green but when I heard that out of the mouths of babes, I had to act! I needed no more motivation than that honest perspective!

At that point I did a little research into white stripes. I used them but I found my teeth became a little sensitive. I thought white stripes were my only option unless I wanted to invest quite a bit of cash into a professional method of whitening in the dentist office and I knew I didn’t really want to go with that option.

Enter, Smile Brilliant!

When they reached out to me to review their product I was intrigued. After visiting with a representative of their company and hearing more about the product, I agreed to give it a shot. I also headed to their website and watched this video.

Smile Brilliant is a different type of product than what you can purchase over the counter. The product comes in a kit which provides everything you need to make the molds of your teeth and to whiten your teeth. I love that it is personal in that it isn’t a one size fits all type of product. Let’s be honest, everyone’s mouth and teeth are little different and universal products always seem to have a negative when it comes to size. Smile Brilliant is made to fit me!

Once I made the molds of my teeth, which was actually a quite fun, I simply dropped them in they mail.

Return-ImpressionsI received perfectly fitted trays for me within a few days.

Trays-Bathroom-C

Then I began the whitening process. It was easy without being messy. I honestly like the idea of trays because I feel as though the whitening gel can get to all areas of my teeth in order to whiten them evenly. I received three whitening gel syringes and three desensitizing gel syringes, which was enough to bring my teeth back from the abyss of greenness to the beauty of white once again. It is recommended that the product does not stay on your teeth longer than 3 hours. I typically put the trays in when I went to bed and took them out a few hours later. It may sound strange but I wake up every night after I’ve been asleep for a few hours so this system worked perfectly for me. You might choose a different time frame but that is the beauty of it. You can make it work for you.

Here’s a closeup of me prior to using Smile Brilliant. Again, I don’t think my teeth were green but definitely yellow and stained.

Yellow Smile

Here’s me after using the Smile Brilliant system. I am so happy with the way the product worked on my teeth. I have noticed a drastic difference in my blog photos when it comes to my smile and that makes me extremely happy.

My husband noticed right away that my teeth were whiter when he returned home from a trip. So that’s makes it unanimous - we are both happy with the product and the whitening of my teeth.

Again, I mentioned that I have never been one of those people with super white teeth and my expectation was not to accomplish an uber white smile but rather remove yellowing and stains caused by my lifestyle choices. Smile Brilliant definitely accomplished that goal. I also think it is a major plus to have the trays so I can continue to re-whiten my teeth as needed.

I would recommend this product to my readers because I am happy with the results. I am thrilled to have a white and brighter smile. Honestly, I feel more confident when my smile is bright.

Red, White & Blue + Co-Hosting

The fourth of July is right around the corner and this means many Americans will be sporting the colors of our flag colors, the ole red, white and blue. Today, I’m going to go ahead a share a look or two for patriotic inspiration. I’m also sporting some much whiter teeth than usual and I’m excited to share about a great product {Smile Brilliant} I’ve been using to bring some whiteness back to my smile. You can read about it here.

I typically really like red, white and blue together but rarely wear them unless it’s something patriotic. Because those colors represent the flag, I feel it’s hard to wear them just any ole day. I’m glad I have a reason to style these colors today. I also have felt that lately I’ve been neglecting some of favorite prints, like leopard, dots and stripes, which made me want to feature one of those prints in this post. Today, it’s stripes for the patriotic post. What better than a blue and white striped blouse to use as the feature piece in this post? With that blouse, here’s what I came up with by shopping my closet.

Shannon looks absolutely lovely in her maxi dresses and while I am not much of a boho style person I do appreciate it and especially on Shannon ALL the time. This lovely dress is just a dose of the lively, boho style Shannon wears on her blog so I hope you will check out this look more and her blog here.

Yana posts a very cute post all about ridiculous trends that I found amusing, one being the dainty little clutch purses (even though she styles one here) but I love her response to my comment on these annoying but cute purses, Yana: “This bag is like a bad boyfriend, you know he kinda ruins everything for you, but he’s so cute haha.” AMEN yana haha! Check out her complaints here and check out her lovely style while you are at it.

I love Alena’s new take on wearing a kimono over a maxi dress, how simple is this yet a whole new way to wear a kimono to get the most out of one too. I am definitely trying this. Check out her post here.

A Pretty Print

Recently, I was contacted by a representative from Rosegal offering me an opportunity to style and review an item of my choice. After perusing their site I choose a printed tunic dress that could be worn in several ways. Versatile pieces are the way to go because they extend your wardrobe especially if they can cross over to multiple seasons. I thought the colors and print in this piece lent to that philosophy.

I’m styling this tunic as a dress today and adding cowboy boots. They may seen odd but for this time of year in Texas, I would wear this piece to do a little boot scooting around the dance floor with my hubby. This piece could be worn with sandals or wedges as well although I didn’t style it that way today.

Rosegal Dress 2

Rosegal dress

Rosegal Dress 3

Because the fabric is lightweight it can easily be tucked in and worn with a variety of bottoms such as a skirt, pants, leggings and my summer favorite, boyfriends shorts. Again, I’m styling it with my boots. I would wear this look to go out to eat or to our local fair which will be town toward the end of the summer.

Rosegal Shorts 2

Rosegal & Shorts

Rosegal Shorts 4Although I really like this tunic and will be wearing it throughout multiple seasons, I didn’t realize it would so shear. In order for me to wear it as dress, I’ll need a long cami underneath. That is not the end of the world but on a hot day it could be a little uncomfortable. The positive side of being shear is it can easily be paired underneath a sweater in cooler months. I think this tunic will look fantastic with leggings and tall boots this winter and I look forward to featuring it again.

Overall, I found several items at Rosegal that I liked and I am happy with this tunic. They have many cute pieces but remember they are inexpensive and not the highest quality. That being said, I for one am someone who is on a budget and like to have a mix of quality of pieces. Trendy items might not be my most expensive pieces but that doesn’t mean they have to look cheap. Just use a good eye and remember that not everything online looks the same in real life. Here’s what this piece looked like online.

My Summer Reading List

I’m linking up today with my Style Me Blogger friends and we are sharing our Summer Reading Lists. This is my first summer in years that I haven’t been under the syllabus of various professors and their required reading. Although it feels so good, I am trying to set goals for myself so I will actually not get too distracted with other things and forget about the books I want to finish. Honestly, this is my bookshelf in my office and I have yet to finish many of these. But, I will someday!

IMG_1394

Here’s what I’m currently reading:

Anything by Jennie Allen. I actually signed up for her online study of the book and am catching her hangouts on Monday evenings. She’s challenging me to trust the Lord with everything…This is so good for me.

Madame Chic by Jennifer L. Scott. My friend Deena from Shoes to Shiraz read this book earlier this year and then had a giveaway for it. I won it! She delivered it to me in San Antonio and I started reading it right away. I’m finding the author’s points interesting and love how she allows the reader to see into her experience living abroad with a French family. You can check out her blog, The Daily Connoisseur here.

My next read will be:

Just Rise Up by Sarah Francis Martin. I found another online book study with The Influence Network. I should be receiving this book in the mail soon and I’m looking forward to this study starting in July 1st.

The rest of my Summer Reading List consists of these gems.

By Susan Wise Bauer

She is a classical educator and I adore this type of education. It is rich and meaty with a focus on things of thought like literature and history. {Did I mention I miss being a teacher}!

This is actually on my bookshelf. I have started it in the past but had other reads that were required so this one was never finished. Ancient history is a dear love of my heart.

I’ll probably have to fix my eyeballs and brain on this one as well. This is a helpful guide.

By Mortimer J.Alder

He has written a book that is typically found in most classical schools called How to Read a Book {yes, I own that one too}. This book goes hand in hand with the classical thought process. Another book I’ve started but wasn’t able to finish.

Some of that can sound kinda heavy for summer, right? Well, maybe but I totally love this stuff! I do have a little fiction book that I’m waiting on to arrive. I’m going to be reading this book, which I chose from Blogging for Books {thanks, Lana for the tip}!

http://images.randomhouse.com/cover/9780553418774?height=450&alt=no_cover_b4b.gifHere’s a little description that drew me to this novel:

Monsieur Perdu calls himself a literary apothecary. From his floating bookstore in a barge on the Seine, he prescribes novels for the hardships of life. Using his intuitive feel for the exact book a reader needs, Perdu mends broken hearts and souls. The only person he can’t seem to heal through literature is himself; he’s still haunted by heartbreak after his great love disappeared. She left him with only a letter, which he has never opened.

Sounds like a fun read and I can’t wait to get started on it. What’s on your reading list this summer? Something new or re-reading an old favorite. Would love to hear about it in the comments.

Just a few more hours to enter the giveaway. Don’t miss out on your opportunity for a chance to win the gift card!

My Style Me Wardrobe Panorama ~ Week 2

I love summer style but I sure wish I could wear shorts to work. Does anyone else feel that way? Or at least flirty sundresses and strappy flat sandals would make the heat more bearable as I venture to car in the afternoon. The epitome of summer to me is easy casual looks on those hot summer afternoons. The styling for the Summer Style Me Challenge at Get Your Pretty On has included some fun looks. I have participated in some outfits but missed a few too. This means today, I’m posting my favorite looks from last week.

Day 4 ~ Boyfriend Shorts, Bright Tanks, Kimono + Sandals

Here’s my look and if you read Monday’s post you have already seen this look. Sorry for the repeat.

Day 6 ~ White Shorts, Chambray, Floral Head Wrap + Sneakers

Here’s my take on the look. I’m not sure about the head wrap so I opted for floral sneakers instead.

Here’s my take and I did follow the look really well on this day. Featuring the look with and without the vest.

Day 8 ~ Palazzo Pants, Tank + sandals

I love palazzo pants almost as much as I love the kimono. I couldn’t actually wear this to work without an completer piece, so I added a little cardigan.

Day 9 ~ Boyfriend Shorts, Graphic Tee + Sneakers

I put together a couple of outfits for this look. A retro graphic complete with a side ponytail. I’m trying to learn some new styles with the locks. It’s time, friends! There is plenty hair there to create some new looks, which is exactly why I grew my hair out to bring with anyway.

retro graphicThought I would try another graphic tee from shopping my closet. Showing it tucked and untucked. I’m not typically an untucked fan because it can add a little bulk on small and short frame. It all depends on proportion. When I’m in flat shoes I tend to prefer tucked or at least half-tucked.

Day 10 ~ White Shorts, Colored Tank, Chambray + Sandals

I really like this chambray cami that is a little flowy. Showing it tucked and untucked again. With this particular top, I almost like untucked better.
