Being Thankful with TBB

monday thankful posts

Happy first Monday of November! Let the craziness and festivities begin! I’m ready for the holidays and sweetness that engulfs them to begin, albeit I am not ready in the prepared sense but ready in the heart sense.  But the ladies at The Blended Blog are prepared and we have our Monday post ideas ready and as you know the first Monday of the month is always TBB Asks. Since it’s November our questions are all about what we are thankful for and I’m excited to share my responses with you today.

ThankYou (1)

1. A new friend: This girl – Maddi – is not a new friend but we recently reconnected. She was a student in one of my high school history classes. All grown up and making her place in this world and I get a front row seat to her life.

2. Something shiny: I’m so looking forward to shining and sparkly lights on the Christmas tree this year!

3. Someone unexpected: On Saturday, I was picking up a few things at Target when I ran into Rachel. She was in my first 4th grade class and a student who was close to my heart. She got married a couple of years ago and they are expected their first baby in 2018. She is absolutely beautiful inside and out.

4. Something ordinary: Just life!

5. A person you’ve know for a long time: This is my Aunt Mary Ann {my mom’s sister} and tomorrow she turns 80! Happy Birthday, Aunt Mary Ann! Yes, I’ve known her all my life.

6. Somewhere you go every day: {almost every day} It’s up and at it early at the gym and hitting those weights. I love the challenge and feeling the strength coming back into my muscles as they are growing again.

7. Some who’s taught you something: My mom! You can say she’s taught me A LOT. Just a few of the little things that are super important like not being late, give a good first impression, be clean and neat are just a few of the ordinary things I learned from her but have carried me so far in life. More importantly she taught me and modeled the importance of heritage, family and self-sacrifice. I would not have made it this far in life without my mom and her prayers for me.

8. A far-away place: Romania! I went on multiple mission trips there and always left a piece of my heart with those dear sweet people.

9. Something that’s saving your life right now: Listening to sermons from Watermark Community Church in Dallas, Texas. I try to get at least one each day as I sit at my desk and wade through mundane tasks.

10. Someone you see every day: This guy is the one I see first every morning. Thankful that he is the my life.

11. Something you enjoy doing: I totally enjoy just spending time with people I love. It’s always fun to reconnect when you haven’t seen someone for awhile. It happened on Saturday with these humans. Renit {who lived with us for a couple of years} and her husand Ryan. Added bonus was meeting Audrey! My favorite picture because I just love their expressions!

12. Someone female: My lovely daughter of course!

13. A special place: My grandma’s house holds lots of memories for everyone in our family. It is the most special place!

14. Someone male: This guy! My dad who is going to be 89 in February. He was 87 in this picture and that is quite amazing!

15. Something warm: Coffee of course!

That’s my wrap for today. Hope your week is starting off beautifully!

Be blessed! ~ Carrie

Hello Carrie. How fun to meet some of your special people in this post today. I love that you go on mission trips to Romania. I've not been there, but years ago I visited Moldova on mission trip. We just hosted some of our mission partners at church this weekend so I've got missions on the mind, which is a good thing! Anyway, have a fabulous week and a wonderful Thanksgiving!
