I’m so excited for today’s post for several reasons. I love breezy tops and pattern mixing plus I’m Co-Hosting with Pumps and Push-Ups for Oh, Hey Girl!
On Monday, I posted about breezy tanks, which are such a great pieces for casual summer looks. Today, I’m sharing about breezy tops, which I love to wear to work during the summer. Last week I wore breezy tops like I’m featuring today everyday. And yes, I do have that many. I have tried not be a multiples girl but it’s been a hard habit for me to kick.
What I found in my closet last week were breezy short-sleeved tops that were easy to use as a base for several outfits. I paired them with colored bottoms and added a leopard print belt for a slight hint of pattern mixing. Here’s one of the looks that I wore.
The short-sleeved breezy top has little white dots so it was easy to add a little leopard print for that hint of visual interest with pattern mixing. A little jewelry and wedges completed the look.
Another breezy top in my closet has a bolder print. Although I kept the red pants for this post, I actually wore this top with green skinny jeans.
Again a little pattern mixing with the leopard print belt to complete the look. Same jewelry and wedges too which is exactly what I wore with the green skinny jeans. What I looked about these looks is that I could easily put them together and create a polished look for work.
Do you ever get frustrated with creating new looks with your own pieces? I do…all the time. I typically avoid that frustration when I start with one piece and build from it. For these breezy top looks I started with the top. Since both of these tops have a black background I found it easy to pair them with any colored pants in my closet. To add interest with pattern mixing I chose a belt but I could have used a leopard print scarf or shoes to add that mix. From there I decided on jewelry pieces. Breezy tops look great with longer necklaces so that is what I chose to finish the look. My wedges have been my go-to sandals all summer and they completed these looks.
As fall is approaching, these breezy tops will easily transition under sweaters or jackets. The red pants will also be a transition piece in the coming months. Stay tuned for more looks with these pieces. Have you thought about the easy transition pieces in your closet?
