Work Your Work Wear Challenge - Week 2

The Work Your Work Wear Challenge is in Week 2! Alison at Get Your Pretty On, continues to have lovely outfit suggestions as we move forward in the challenge. I really love the classic flair that Alison has put into her individual pieces and outfits. I am really a classic dresser at heart even though I love trends and even some boho here and there. I seem to always return to my first love - a classic and professional look that is put together. I have not been disappointed in this challenge one single bit.

Where I have been disappointed lies with some of my own pieces that have been hanging around in my closet. When I pull them out to style, I have discovered that they are simply ill-fitting. I am now realizing more and more that fit is vitally important to a polished and put together look for each outfit. My outfit for Day 6, showed me I have been wearing a blouse (that I love) only to realize it truly is too big. This leads me to make more choices on purging. This doesn’t make me sad because I am feeling more and more creative as I narrow down my closet and remix pieces which I would not have done before. I have to admit that Pinterest is another place where I am learning great things.

Now, with Alison’s assistance and Pinterest I continue to have even more ideas for remixing. Here’s my take on the challenge outfits. Check out my outfits and some of my fellow bloggers below.

Day 4 - Cardigan + White Button Down + Printed Pants + Statement Necklace + Leopard Shoes (I subbed colored flats due to the pattern of the pants)

you've come up with some great outfits. And I've learned the hard way how important fit is.. no matter how great a piece is, if it doesn't fit you, it won't look good on you.
    • Agreed! Fit is the king first because without it an outfit just doesn't cut it. Glad you stopped by today!
  • I still love that necklace... should have bought it!
    • I think they still have it on jane.com. I just got it a couple of weeks ago.

I dont know which outfit I like best on you Carrie, like them all. You look great in green, the printed floral top has such a pretty color combinaition, and if I looked like you in dark denim I would wear it every day! Sounds like a great challenge. from the link up please stop by, jess http://www.elegantlydressedandstylish.com

Love Love Love that green top! Great colour on you!
  • So pretty Carrie! I really love the printed pants and the jeans outfit. I have been very guilty of buying things that don't fit well or flatter me, just because I like them. I'm trying to purge my closet and stick to the things that look best - but it's hard sometimes!
    • I agree, Lana! It is hard to purge and just keep the best pieces and best fitting. The more I do style challenges the more I realize that I have bought so many pieces that just do not fit me. Moving forward though with a better perspective.
  • I really love pinterest - I need to do a week pinterest inspired. I see a lot of bloggers doing it. You look fabulous in all of your outfits!
