Welcome to 9 to 5 Style! The third Monday of every month Fonda of Savvy Southern Chic, Jennie of A Pocketful of Polka Dots and I will showcase a theme featuring our individual takes on a professional look. Our aim is to inspire and show professional style does not have to mean boring and without personality. We hope you enjoy our 9 to 5 Style!
Last month was the inaugural post for 9 to 5 Style with Fonda of Savvy Southern Chic and Jennie of A Pocketful of Polka Dots and they each featured a look with a tan blazer. This month I’m collaborating with them and we are featuring floral. They both have great style and know how to look polished for a day at the office. So excited to be a part of this collaboration!
Floral! Don’t you just love floral in the Spring? I sure do! It’s not just for casual looks either. It can definitely be worn to the office. I found the best floral blouse one day as I was walking through H&M during my lunch break. It was on sale for $10. Yes, I said $10 and I think it’s one of my best purchases ever.
Can you see that it has the perfect tie at the neck? I love a blouse with a tie at the neckline. Always seems so classic and put together.
Of course, any look for the office is better with a pencil skirt, right? Yes, a pencil skirt works but I also have a light blue pair of pencil pants that looks even more fabulous than this skirt. They are also from H&M. You’ll have to check back because I promise I’ll feature those as well.
Another reason I love a blouse that ties at the neck is because it allows for simplicity. It is enough all by itself without wearing jewelry. I’ve come to the place where I’m looking for polished and put-together looks that are not over done. When I look back at what I was putting together a few years ago, I see that I had a lot going on. That’s not necessarily bad but most often these days I’m looking for less and better. Simple, simplicity…
And since it’s April in Texas, we are inundated with wind. It seems likes it blows every day and all the time. As we were trying to pictures for this post the wind took off with my hair. That explains this picture. Enjoy!
Y’all enjoy your Spring. I hope it’s sunny and warm…and maybe not windy wherever you are today. I hope it’s beautiful!
