Currently: January 2019

Welcome, Sweet Readers! It’s Currently time. You can find my previous posts here.

First Wednesday of the month and it’s time to link up with Anne in Residence for Currently. This has always been one of my favorite posts and link ups. In 2018, I made it for 11 of 12 months. 2019, I’m shooting for 12 out of 12, but hanging with grace if I can’t make them all.

Choosing ~ Last year I was all caught up in my very own Happiness Project but it was just too much for me to manage. Why? Because my perfectionist tendencies overtook me and I felt as though I was failing because I couldn’t make it all happen. So this year, I’m choosing grace. I’m also choosing one word, which has been on my heart. That word is renewal.

Tidying ~ During the Christmas holiday break, I’ve been tidying up our home and of course, my closet. I’ve started to focus on a certain color palette and I’m excited where it’s going to take me in the future. Create 28: The Neutrals for Workwear is launching soon.

Resolving ~ As stated earlier, I’m resolving for less this year and focused more on renewal. I wrote a little more about this idea. You can catch up on it in this post.

Exploring ~ I hope to do a little exploring around Texas this year. I read a little bit of a post by Jodie - jtouchofstyle on Instagram. She wrote her husband retiring and how this would allow exploring her city of Denver more. I was inspired to do the same, but expand it to my sweet place of Texas.

Refreshing ~ I’ve been refreshing some of my makeup and hair care products. I’ve decided to focus on better products with fewer toxins. I was able to grab some great items from Beautycounter during their Winter Sale. I also started to sell Monat. I’ve tried more products than I can remember, but Monat has begun to restore my hair’s luster and growth.

That’s what is going on with me Currently. Looking forward to what’s up with you.

Hugs, Carrie

I love exploring my own city. Plus, Dara and I host a link up every month where you can share your local adventures called Local Tourist. It's the last WEEKDAY of each month. :) I got something from Beauty Counter last month but I still need to try it out! -Lauren www.shootingstarsmag.net

Hi CARRIE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019! I love your goals for this month and also that awesome neutrals color palette with the pop of bright green. Actually we have similar goals for this year. Though I didn't mention it, I want to invest on my skin too and start doing a daily regime with healthy, 100% organic and clean products. Beauty Counter is on my radar but tell me more about Monat, please. =) Very Nice answers overall, my friend. Good luck with everything and Happy New Year! Welcome by, Ada. =) http://eleganceandmommyhood.blogspot.com/2019/01/thursday-moda-148-currently-january-2019.html
  • Oooh, I love a good closet tidying-up, and the idea of doing so around a specific palette is such a good one. Those colors are so great! And I've been trying to steer toward better skin/makeup products too - I've liked the Beautycounter stuff I've tried so far, but I've really been pleased also with the Honest Beauty mascara from Target - about 1/2 the price!
