Grocery shopping. Love it or Hate it? I actually enjoy grocery shopping when the store isn’t crowded. I like food and I like shopping for it. Is that weird? Truth is I’ve liked to grocery shop since I was a kid. I enjoyed pushing a cart down the aisles and looking at the variety of items to choose from. It was sort of magically to me I guess.
Now, years later I still like perusing the items on the shelves but my mission has changed. Today I’m typically looking for items that fit into a clean eating lifestyle.
I’m looking to find these kinds of items:
- Non-GMO
- Organic
- Local
- Fair Trade
Because I can find items that fit into these categories I am a regular shopper at Aldi. I also shop different Aldis because I live in one town and work in another. Although they typically carry the same items, I have a favorite one that has a better variety of what I’m looking to purchase. Realistically, I cannot do all of my shopping at Aldi but for me there isn’t one store that carries everything I want so I’m okay with shopping in multiple stores.
The good at Aldi and this is not exhaustive but rather a sampling of what you can find.
Fair Trade Coffee
Organic and Non-GMO canned good staples.
Organic Olive and Coconut Oils.
Non-GMO cane sugar for baking.
Organic chicken, beef and vegetable broth
Just a few organic produce options.
This concludes my trip through Aldi. When I snapped these photos, I wasn’t in favorite Aldi, which is much more organized. I was a little bummed to see the disarray in this store. Again, this is not exhaustive of what can be found but instead a sampling of options. Best part? It’s quite a bit less expensive than other stores including Wal-Mart and Target.
I really want to put good things in my body. Caring for it well is my responsibility. The Word says that it a temple of the Holy Spirit but…that doesn’t mean I never eat a cookie because I never met a cookie I didn’t like.
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
~1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Have the BEST day!
