Hello, Monday…back to work, which means I’m up and at ‘em starting about 5:15 am. I am a morning person but on Monday morning it is much more difficult to get going. Does anyone else feel that way at all? Ever? Every week? On the flip side, I am thankful to be employed and on top of that I enjoy my co-workers. Yes, friends, I am blessed! This is something I tend to struggle to remember because I often take so much of my life for granted. I’m thinking I am not alone as I walk down that avenue.
Something else I take for granted {in Texas} is warm or rather hot weather. We have had a mild summer in comparison to what is normal but just when school starts, the temps begin to surge upward. Always? Always! And that you can take for granted!! Those hot temps make a fall transition tricky. For me, I am in full fall mindset once school begins and Labor Day is past. But when the weather doesn’t cooperate it puts a little damper on breaking out the sweaters and boots. Yet, in the midst of coming fall weather, I have begun to think about what pieces can transition well in this time of year. True summer pieces do not seem exactly spot on right now and heavier layers of fall/winter are just over the top in warmth during September. A happy medium and finding where to land {if that is possible} is my current dilemma.
Looking through my closet, I came up with a few pieces that could work well in this transition time when the days are still overly warm. The first outfit would be appropriate for this time of year and I could wear it to work.
When I put this together in my head, I liked it a whole lot more than when I saw the pictures. I decided to post them anyway because it brings up a great point and one I’m sure you’re acquainted with as well. Sometimes outfits just don’t come together very well in real life. I could wear this to work but I am doubtful that I would after seeing it in pictures.
As the weather continues {or begins} to cool down, I came up with a few more pieces that would extend the life of first outfit. Once I added a short sleeved cardigan and a scarf, I felt much more put together. This is something I would wear and actually feel good when I walked out the door.
Where did I find the individual pieces? Pants & Top {The Limited}, Short Sleeved Cardigan {Target} Scarf {Charlotte Russe} Flats {Old Navy} and Wedges {DSW Shoes}.
