Welcome to Create28 Lovely Summer Looks! I’m so excited to be hosting this series with my friends Whitney {Whitney al’ a Mode} and Casey {A Little Bit of Cheer}. Today we are each featuring our favorite go-to summer looks. I hope you’ll jump on over to their blogs and check out what they love to wear during the summer. I’m also Co-Hosting today with Sydney Fashion Hunter and I hope you’ll join the link-up below.
What’s really on my mind today is summer and summer fashion. And who doesn’t love summertime? What about summertime looks? Do you have a favorite or a few favorites? I have a few looks that I tend to go to in the summer. Typically, I love dresses and shorts for casual looks. I generally have a few favorites in the back of my mind that I go-to when I’m in pinch and don’t feel like thinking too much about it. Here’s where I generally land for a go-to look.
I love a simple and flirty dress for summer. This is my hubby’s favorite type of look on me. He’s been known to encourage me to purchase little dresses like this one as well as flirty little skirts. I would wear this if we went to out to a movie or to grab a burger or taco. It’s perfect for a casual summer date night.
Since I couldn’t wear this dress as is, I added a sweater and it extends the wearability to multiple venues.

And in Texas, dresses and boots are a must in the summer especially if you’re headed out dancing.
When I’m in a hurry and not sure what to wear I like to grab a pair of denim shorts. Recently, I have been loving my boyfriends. Sometimes they aren’t my go-to though because I prefer a more fitted look. Today, my shorts are my other favorite denims that seem to get lots of wear this time of year. I paired them with a simple leopard print cami.

One goal of mine when it comes to my wardrobe is to be able to wear pieces throughout the seasons. I purchased this cami last fall and wore it during the colder months under a sweater. It is just a classic cami in a great leopard print that can stand alone with a pair of denim shorts. It has great versatility and I am able to wear it throughout multiple seasons. It becomes an investment piece that is well worth the price because of the multiple looks it can create. For this look, it can easily be worn tucked or untucked {even when being photo bombed by the family pet…thanks, Charlie}.
Easy looks aren’t they? It’s always great idea to have a look or two on stand-by for when you’re in a pinch and need to get going quickly. Be sure to check out Whitney and Casey for their looks. In case you want a little more inspiration, check out our Pinterest board here.
We all hope you’ll follow along and come up with your own looks. The list of prompts is below. Tomorrow’s look will be graphic tees. Wide open possibilities exist with graphic tees and I can’t wait to see what Whitney has planned for us. If you’re playing along, be sure to share your look on Instagram and use the hashtag #Create28SummerLooks. And…don’t forget to add your link below for the link-up party! Where I’m linking up.
This week I’m excited to be co-hosting The Wednesday Pants Link-Up with Allison of Sydney Fashion Hunter. Allison created her blog to share her experiences of hunting down that perfect fashion item in the beautiful harbour city she calls home. She’s a globe-trotting, shoe loving, designer handbag toting Aussie who loves to cook up a storm with a wine glass in hand. On the blog she mixes high-end and high street. In “The Wednesday Pants” series she has set herself a challenge to wear the same white pair of Calvin Klein pants every Wednesday for an entire year, styled differently of course! This week Allison is rugging up against the cold in subtle grey tones. Grey is the new black after all! Head on over to her blog and follow along. We’d both love to see your style this week so link up below following these simple rules:- 1. Follow your host on Facebook, Bloglovin‘, Twitter and/or Pintrest. 2. Follow your co-host on Facebook, Bloglovin‘, Twitter and/or Pintrest. 3. Your post should be either a white pants outfit from your archives or your best OOTD from this week. 3. Ensure your link goes to a specific blog page rather than you blog home page. 4. Include a link back to Sydney Fashion Hunter in your blog post. 5. Visit a couple of the other links and discover new blogs to love.
