Today is the last link up for Spring Fever Fashion with The Blended Blog. We’ll be starting a new series next week called Fashion Files Link-Up.
Well, I have to start with a little story today. Three years ago this month I did my first Style Challenge with Alison at Get Your Pretty On. That challenge is where I “met” most of the ladies that I collaborate with through The Blended Blog. From our first Style Challenge we started blogging together and created our very own collective blog. And I feel as though I’m going full circle today because I am featuring a gorgeous scarf that Alison created. This is only one from the gorgeous collection, which can be found here.
I thought it was also appropriate {and fun} to style this scarf with a couple of dresses that I purchased while I was participating in various challenges with Alison. If you’ve been here for any length of time, you have seen my grey sheath. It’s a workhorse! Since it’s Spring it needs a little pop of color. *Disclaimer - remember the wind in Texas!* Oh, the wind…will it ever stop?!
Y’all! This scarf! It’s silk! It’s beautiful and so colorful. But there is so much more. The design was created by an artist in Brooklyn, NY and the scarves are manufactured in the US. And to top it off a percentage of the proceeds are donated to a local domestic violent shelter in Dallas, TX. Y’all! These are all things that I love! People using their talents to create, creating here in the US and helping people in need. It’s all very beautiful to me!
I’ve also styled my striped sheath several times on the blog. I never really had any stripes until I came across the GYPO Style Challenges. Y’all that’s when I fell in love with stripes. That’s also when I fell in love with floral. I guess GYPO Style Challenges really did help my style!
Love these colors together. Love stripes and floral. Don’t they just scream “It’s Spring?” Oh, yes they just embody the beauty of Spring.
