Styling a Summer Dress + Link-Up

Let’s start this post with a little confession time. I lied last week. Not intentionally, but I told you that last week was the end of the Style Perspectives. Because I lack paying attention sometimes I make mistakes. Now you know. Now you have been witness to my lack of focus. BUT today is the last day of Style Perspectives + it’s the start of Create28. I’m only styling for Style Perspectives and our prompt is a summer dress. Andrea from Living on Cloud Nine gave us the prompt and you can find her on The Blended Blog today.

I’m pulling some looks from last year with a little striped dress. During The Great Purge, I decided to keep this dress. Basically, it’s because I want a striped dress in my closet and have not really found the one I’ve been after for a few seasons. I wore this to work last week and it was well received by my co-workers. Made me happy that I kept it!

Here it is all by itself. The base dress and it can totally be worn like this and still be completely polished.

Or add a cardigan. Pick a color because this blue will mix with a variety of other colors.

It also works with a kimono. Truth be told - I said good-bye to this kimono and the green sweater.

Stripes are so easy to work with when pattern mixing. Here I kept the color scheme and simply mixed in another pattern.

The blouse could be worn more than one way also - belted or tied. Tied is my favorite but either one works.

Remember last week? If not, here’s the recap of our Navy + Nautical looks.

I have the same problem with my striped dress, I don't love, but haven't found one I like more... yet!
