This is the second week of the new job. Learning all kinds of new things and getting acquainted with everyone, learning new schedules, departments, etc. Fresh and new is always exciting to me. Although I am a creature of habit in some ways, I also enjoy change and a new challenge. It is so good to continue to move forward in life and not get stuck in a rut and I’m not specifically speaking about fashion but it sure does apply.
One of the things I am enjoying ever so much is being able to get out of my casual and denim wear everyday. {Like many places of employment, Friday is a day we are able to wear jeans}. Last week I wore a dress for three days in a row. Let me clarify people, it was three different dresses.
Honestly, since I have been participating in fashion challenges and learning to remix my wardrobe, I really thought getting dressed each morning was so simple. I have learned quite a bit about the little things that make an outfit. For example, a pop of color or a print or pattern of some sort just add a finishing touch. I’m posting my favorite look from last week that encompasses those elements. Simplicity, ease, comfort + a pop of color and a pattern. This dress is going to be a staple for many seasons down the road because layers can be added for warmth as well as tights and/or boots.
Taken on the back patio with the sun in the background which is a little distracting for good color.
Taken in the backyard with the garden in view {or rather what is still left of the garden}.
Disclaimer: Bad hair and makeup due to gym day and following through on that goal of cardio. It was a good workout! ![]()
Last Monday started with a bang of a new job and I have to say that Friday ended with da’ bomb. My husband surprised me in the afternoon and showed up with a new car. Bye bye sorta sedanish Focus and hello sporty Focus hatchback with a fin, sporty wheels + racer bucket seats. Not sure how I’m going to get out of that car when I’m 60 but I’ll figure that out in like nine years. And yes I will probably still have the car in nine years.
