Fall Creative with TBB

Life is an adventure, right? Home decorating is an adventure that is scary for me…Boo! Yes, pun intended. But truthfully, I am so far from an interior decorator that our universes may never collide. Enter my husband, who has a new-found love for home decor. Imagine his wife standing next to him in Hobby Lobby terrified with anxiety trying to think through what we should purchase for our mantle and front porch. If you can relate, then you are walking in my shoes, sister. Glad you’re here!

I am linking up with The Blended Blog today and our feature will be Shelley from The Queen in Between. It will be fabulous because she always has something gorgeous going on.

The Mantle

These are examples of what I envision in my mind. Kinda like sugar plums dancing in my head…but I digress, so let’s back to decorating the mantle.

This what we came up with as a first attempt at fall home decor for the mantle on our beautiful fireplace.

Notice a few repairs are currently needed. Thank you, Gracie for finding something other than your toys to chew on. {insert sad face here}

So we have a starting point and I’m sure we’ll do more next year, but we started so that’s one for the win column.

The front porch is a definite area for decorations and to welcome visitors. I love everthing about this front door decor including the door.

And us? We are simple but we have a start for the future. I am going to cook that fresh pumpkin and make some bread. I hope it turns out delicious because that will make our little attempt at decorating another one for the win column.

Thankfully, we have this gorgeous front door. It’s an eight footer and solid wood. This will give us something beautiful to work with next fall…or next season. Hello, Christmas decor. I should start planning now, right?!

That is about as creative as I’ve gotten this fall. Feel free to leave me suggestions on ideas for Christmas. We need to step up our game for sure! I welcome your input! Be sure to stop by and link up your post with The Blended Blog and show your creative side.

The Blended Blog has a few things planned for November. Next Monday will be TBB Asks. Can’t wait to read your posts!

There are some other great prompts for Mondays in November too.

Have a great day, friends!

Hugs, Carrie

Your front door is gorgeous! I would be lost without pinterest - I find something I like then try to put it together here - I very rarely come up with great ideas on my own but I sure have fun with it! xo, Kellyann www.thisblondesshoppingbag.com

You and Mr. did good. I love the front porch!
  • I'm with you...I love the idea of decorating but it just doesn't happen in my world. Maybe....it's a goal at least... But you both did fabulous here....it's baby steps, right? XOOX Jodie www.jtouchofstyle.com
  • I can so relate! I'm terrible with home decor! I can copy what I see but I can never come up with anything original! I think your mantel looks great and it's fun to add a little something each year!
  • We finally installed a "real" mantle over our fireplace and I am finding that as crafty as I am that I still find it intimidating to pick out just the right pieces for it and set up something I love. I think your mantle looks great!
  • Your mantle looks great! I agree, I'm never going to be an interior decorator - but I try!
