TBB Asks: Holiday Edition

Hello, Monday + Hello, Friends! Hope your weekend was delightful and wrapped in holiday cheer. If not, maybe TBB Asks: Holiday Edition will bring a little cheer to you!

1. Candy canes? I can take them or leave them, but typically I’ll take them because like Elf, I like too like sugar! My mom always put them on the tree and I did too years ago. This candy cane craft inspires me to rethink my relationship with candy canes.

2. I’m an early riser no matter what the day. I do remember a Christmas morning when my brother and I got up extra early {not on purpose}, but my cousins happened to be at our house. Yeah, they were not thrilled when we all discovered all gifts were opened and it was around 5:00 am. They never stayed with us again.

3. I shopped a little on Black Friday but mostly for me. Does that sound terrible? Just trying to take advantage of items and deals I was trying to restock.

4. We put our tree up during those days after Thanksgiving.

5. I do poke around a bit on Pinterest. I mean think/work smarter not harder, right?

6. I’m definitely not a Christmas glam but I would sure like to find an ugly Christmas sweater that I sorta, kinda liked.

7. Growing up, our stockings were stuffed and unwrapped. I always did the same when my daughter was home. Hubby and I planning on only stockings this year and I can’t decide if I like that idea and/or to wrap or not wrap. To be continued…

8. I like a mix of both traditional and modern Christmas songs. I never get tired of Andy Williams, Johnny Mathis, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole. Never…

9. Fruitcake - NEVER!

10. Shopping is not done. Not even close.

11. A few times we have had snow at Christmas in Texas. In Iowa, we always had snow. I simply adore a white Christmas.

12. I like them both, but growing up I remember not really like Charlie Brown Christmas but loving Rudolph. But ole, Charlie, always had the best message. Today, I’m going with Charlie! Sorry, Rudolph!

I always end up shopping for myself if I got to stores on Black Friday - heck even online because the deals are so good! I am interested to see is anyone likes fruitcake, ha!!! It was fun reading your answers sweet Carrie - I hope your Monday is fantastic like you! xo, Kellyann
  • Typically if I shop on Black Friday (from home only!) it's for stuff for me or the house as well. I have yet to buy an actual gift for someone else on Black Friday.

Yep, one gift for them, one gift for me, lol!!! Why do they even make fruitcake, lol! Hope your day is as sweet as you are!
  • I bet having a white Christmas in Texas is WAY different than here in Colorado...ha ha!! Feel free to come visit us...if not snow, at least we will have the cold!! XOXO Jodie www.jtouchofstyle.com

Being form Australia I am not familiar with Charlie Brown Christmas, I can imagine it would be one of those things that have become a heartfelt favourite at this time of year for many people. I need to dig out our Christmas CDs, I love a good old Christmas carol :)
  • Your tree and fireplace are so inviting. Wish there was room in our den for the tree. We wind up putting it in the front room/living room and never really get to enjoy it. That candy cane craft is adorable. Would be a cute activity to do with your students. I still have an ornament that a little girl named Liberty Gray made for me years and years ago from pretzels. A keepsake for sure. I cannot understand who it is that is making and eating all of the 'traditional' fruit cake. Or maybe they have all passed on to the big fruit cake in the sky and there's no one eating it these days.

I love a good mix of Christmas music as well. I love your tree by the fireplace, it looks beautiful. We put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving too!
  • Your tree is so beautiful, friend!
  • We used to put candy canes on our tree too! Your tree looks beautiful Carrie!
