Happy Monday. Happy October 22nd. Happy 24th Anniversary to my main squeeze. It’s so hard to believe I have been his bride for 24 years. Where does the time go, right?! Am I 24 years older? Well, yes I am but I can’t wrap my brain around that one either.
This guy has been coming home to me every day for 24 years. Well, every day except for when he was out soldiering and protecting our country.
It’s funny when you get married and everything is rosy. You think you’re so in love and of course, you are because you’re in the honeymoon stage of marriage. Eventually, that wears off and life sets in. All the true colors come out and hubby and wife get real. Life gets interesting and fun. Through the interesting and fun, I’m glad I’ve gone through it all with this guy. The days can be long but the years have been short. I cannot even fathom how quickly they have gone by.
How I love him!
He loves me. He puts me first. He’s so patient with me. He’s generous. He’s a servant. He doesn’t complain. He’s a great cook. He’s always on-time. The list goes on and on…
We decided to do a mini celebration on Saturday. We spent the day doing a little shopping and then lunch. We hadn’t planned anything exciting, but just a day we could be together. Truthfully, he swept me away so I wouldn’t work on teacher things all day. Super sweet! He gave me time to shop and shop a little more because yeah, I really like clothes. I really like fall clothes the most. It was relaxing and refreshing. I totally felt loved!
After a little Mexican food for lunch, I picked up a few new cute fall pieces and we headed home. For me, it was a perfect day of just being together with no timeline or demands.
Perfect fall day for me. Perfect fall tradition for me too. Linking up with The Blended Blog for the Fall Traditions post.
Have the best week, friends!
