Well, I’m doing a little double duty today. I’ve got a post up at The Blended Blog but I thought what the heck…why not try to get a post here too. So, there you go. I got ‘er done!
Do you have fun when you walk in your closet? Does it inspire you or do you just feel overwhelmed? To be honest, for me it can be both. On days when I’m feeling inspired, I just want to try things on and create new looks but honestly that inspiration has been gone for a while. I think I’ve had too many other people in my head and been carrying guilt for purchases that aren’t really me.
Well, guess what? I’m thinking about packing up all that stuff and getting rid of it. Ok, not everything but you know what I mean. The things that I don’t wear and the things that don’t feel like me. I’m going to dress for me and love what I wear. Loving what I wear just gives me confidence. It’s all starting now….
The other day I had to pick up a little gift and on my journey I stopped in to Banana Republic Factory Store. I was so inspired by the pieces and colors that I saw for this spring. I just got excited about style again! As I looked around I knew I could create some similar looks from my own closet. I also started to think about what type of new pieces I would add for the next season that fit with the look I want to create. Excited about all of this!
I saw an outfit very similar to this one. The jacket in the store wasn’t camo but I thought a little pattern mixing would work.
I then was thinking I could easily wear this little cable knit sweater with other skirts in my closet. I want to wear more skirts to work so I should be putting some looks together for sure, right?!
What about a little grey skirt and red blazer? Yep, that works and it feels like me.
What about one more skirt with this sweater and booties too? Yep, I found another look that was inspired by the trip to Banana Republic Factory Store. I saw lots of pinks and blues and the tones were gorgeous!
That’s where I’m at friends. Creating outfits from my closet and looking forward to some new pieces for spring. Being Carrie is what I want to accomplish in my style this year. Oh, and I’m just not sure about scarves anymore. I wanted to try them in these looks but most days I opt out of them and choose jewelry instead. What’s your thoughts on scarves lately?
Be blessed! ~ Carrie
