Create28~Day 7 Show Your Sweater{s}

Sweaters are just the staple of fall and winter wouldn’t you agree? I have more sweaters than I care to divulge. Maybe you do as well. Some sweaters can be the focal point of your look or just the completer piece. Remember that link about creating an outfit? It’s here if you’d like to read it again.

The type of sweater is important to create your look. Are you going for casual? Comfy? Dressy? I tend to lean into the vein of casual or classic/chic for many of my looks. Knowing that helps when I’m creating a look. It also matters what I’m dressing for – a weekend outing, work or something in between. Most of my sweaters tend to be cardigans. The reason behind that stems from a little craziness I have going on at times. When I find something I like, I tend to want multiples. I have been known to purchase two pairs of the same pants when I find one that I like. I fear they will wear out and I won’t have “anything” to wear. This is a message in my head that I am working through. Because the truth is this – I cannot remember EVER not having something to wear or completely wearing out a piece of clothing.

Okay, back on track – the point is I have multiple sweaters in various colors and many are cardigans. I decided to feature a boyfriend cardigan. This is my comfy cozy sweater. It is neutral and can go with about everything I own. Today I’m opting for a couple of casual looks.

Just in case your looking for some sweater inspiration…here’s a board for you.

Boyfriend sweaters + skinny jeans + boots = add anything else and you still have a fabulous look.

Before we wrap up today, I wanted to revisit what goes on in our minds. Messages in my {your} head - how are they affecting you when it comes to clothing. Have you ever thought about it? It is something I am paying attention to more than I ever have in the past. Those thoughts develop my actions and create a way of life. Ouch! When I have those ouch moments I know something might be out of alignment in my life. As much as I enjoy my clothing, I must be careful that it isn’t my life. Can you relate? Let me hear your thoughts, my friends.

Week 1 just finished and as we head into Week 2, I have a couple of questions. How are feeling/doing with the challenge? Are you creating looks that you love? Is there any way{s} I can help you? I do hope you are getting in the groove and enjoying what you are creating. I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Tomorrow’s looks is to Style a Skirt. Don’t have a skirt? Be creative and style something new that you’ll love to wear.

Have a lovely day, friends!

  • Carrie, I sure know what you mean about "those thoughts" about clothing. I often see another blogger with a darling item that I just know I could style in million ways. All I can think about is how my wardrobe would be complete if I just get that one item. Unfortunately, those thoughts are never satisfied.
    • Agreed, Karen! I am learning to be more content with what I have already. Actually, this challenge is helping me to see so much more...I need more days to wear them all. :)
  • Cozy sweaters are the best! If I get dressed beyond yoga pants today, I will definitely wear one. Haha.
    • Were you a yoga pants girl all day? I was dressed for running errands and then it was workout clothes at home.
