Whatever is Lovely #15

Favorites! Do you have favorites? Like blogs you follow, or people on Instagram or Twitter? Is social media a part of your everyday life? Typically, it is for me but there are times I just want to unplug or even return to the days when some of these things didn’t exist, like in the picture above. Why? Because cyber life is not the same as real life. To be honest, there are times I struggle with a good balance.  At the end of the day, I enjoy blogging but if I could sit down and have a face to face with you over a cup of coffee I would dearly cherish that moment in time. But that day is not today so let’s move onto some faves from this week.

1. The Blended Blog is up and running! I am so excited to be a part of this venture. Have you stopped by to see what’s going this week? A series about transitioning to fall looks is live and features a blog hop. Please stop by and check it out.

2. I think y’all know that I really like Audrey who blogs at Putting Me Together. This week she featured a post about ankle boots. It was really informative so just in case you missed it, you can find it here.

3. I’m registered for the Fall Style Me Challenge at Get Your Pretty On. It’s not too late to join and I’m excited that some of blogger buddies are in as well. My friend Deena who blogs at Shoes to Shiraz wrote a great post about how the challenge has impacted her life. All I can say is that she said what I wanted to say but failed to put the words on paper. Check it out here.

4. I know a professional baseball player. He plays for the Oakland A’s and his name is Carson Blair. He just had his first career hit and it was a home run. It just so happened that the event took place here in Texas when they were playing the Rangers. Are you curious how I know Carson? Well, on the very first day of my first year of teaching 4th grade I encountered Carson Blair or maybe it was just his mother. His mother was in the pickup line up after school shouting his name: CARSON, CARSON!! I was terrified to turn around because surely no one knew me. Right? Right, they didn’t know me but Mrs. Blair certainly wanted her son to get in the car with her. Never forgot Carson Blair. Actually, he was a polite and respectful young man. Enjoy his homer with me!

5. I “met” a sweet blogger named Erin who blogs at Happily Howards this week. Ok, not in person but you know what I mean. I loved this post about how to remix a simple black dress.

That’s all I have for this round of Whatever is Lovely. Thanks for faithfully stopping by, friends. Hope you enjoy the weekend!

  • I loved that ankle boot article and totally agree with you about just wanting to shut everything off. What I wouldn't do to be able to have weekly coffee sessions with you; my life would be so enriched with a weekly dose of Carrie.
    • We should have a google hangout/coffee date!

    • I would cherish that Whitney!! Carson was such a great kid! When I saw that he hit that homer I was so excited for him. He's been in the minors for awhile so this was a big deal.
  • Loved that ankle boot article! So informative, and Audrey is the first blog that I found about fashion, which made me want to revamp my wardrobe! Random fact I know. She made it seem like it was doable, and then I came across Alison's blog and we all know what happened then.
    • She is just so normal and down to earth. Real looks for real people!!
