Currently: October 2018

Hey, friends! So confession time and you might already know, but I missed Currently last month with Anne in Residence. I just could not get it together after re-entering the teaching field. There were just too many things on my plate, and I could not get a blog post together to save my life. But, hey, 9 out of 10 this year isn’t too bad!

Wearing ~ Y’all, my wardrobe has totally changed. No more tucking my shirts and wearing belts. It’s loose tops that are untucked these days. Why? Because I have about two minutes to go to the bathroom and there is no time for tucking and belting. It’s about ease and comfort. I never thought I could actually wear what I’m wearing lately, but I am and I’m loving it. Who knew?

Collecting ~ Each week I’m collecting pictures and stories of my students for weekly emails and an end of the year slide show. I’ve always been on the forgetful side of picture-taking but hopefully that is changing.

Making ~ I’m trying to make/create bulletin boards. I’m not a decorative artist by any stretch of the imagination, so add years of not creating bulletin boards and you just have a perfect storm. Welcome to my classroom!

Taking ~ I’ve been taking some trips to James Avery to replace jewelry that was stolen when our home was broken into in July. Yep, it’s the truth and super not fun.

Planning ~ This may sound super simple, but I’m planning to have a three-day weekend and I’m not planning to go into the classroom. I am planning to drop in and see a few of old co-workers. Can’t wait to hug some necks of some sweet ladies that I surely miss.

Hope your week is fabulous so far. Can’t wait to read what’s been going on in your life currently.

Linking up with Anne In Residence.

blessings ~ Carrie

  • Sounds like big changes in your world - but it's nice to see you back here, and hear what you're currently up to! So funny about the not having time to tuck in - I never would have thought of that as a wardrobe issue, but I can see what you mean... And I would totally come do bulletin boards with you. Right up my alley :)
    • Oh, how I wish you lived closer because I am desperate for bulletin board assistance.
  • Lol- I never thought how teacher life changes the wardrobe! I love doing bulletin boards, can I come over?
    • Please stop by on your way home from vaca with the beautiful TBB ladies and I'll put you to work.

How fun re-entering the teaching profession! This is my 22nd year - only 3 years until retirement! It is amazing how our teacher bladders get trained so quickly to only be able to go at certain times of the day!
    • It has been fun and interesting and of course, stressful. :) Those darn bladders for teachers and students alike.
  • So proud of you for going back to teaching!
    • Thank you, friend! That means a lot to me.
  • Oh man... that's such a bummer about having to replace your jewelry - but at least NEW THINGS, right? HAHA - funny how bathroom trips make you change your whole wardrobe. i'm the same way - give me leggings & loose tops so I can get in & out fast & back to my desk.
    • Yep, my life has definitely made a complete change. I'm loving it though!

I think decorating bulletin boards would be fun, but I'm not the best when it comes to MAKING crafty things. LOL -Lauren www.shootingstarsmag.net
    • I think that's what makes it hard. I'm not super crafty either.
  • How exciting about going back to teaching--it sounds like I need to catch up on your blog because I didn't know that! I hope you're loving it!
    • Thank you, Shea! I am loving being back in the classroom. Trying to find some balance though with other parts of my life.
  • Decorating bulletin boards was one of my favorite parts of teaching! I just always found that having the time to do them didn't happen as often as I'd like!
    • That is definitely part of it...time is a rare commodity these days.

I ;enjoyed reading what you are currently doing. Thanks for sharing with SYC. hugs, Jann
  • I love doing bulletin boards. Can I drop by? I have even kept my bulletin board borders and ideas. Won't take me a minute to grab it from the garage and PC would be thrilled for me to get it out of there!! Can relate to no time for belts and tucking/untucking/retucking. If I have to stand in the stall and do all of that, I am going to need a mop, too. Once I get in the bathroom, I am in a HURRY to get accomplish my mission. Hope you've enjoyed this long weekend. Thanksgiving is around the corner and Christmas shortly after. You've got this, girl!
