Currently: November 2018

It’s Currently time with Anne in Residence. I’m always thankful when the first of the month rolls around and Anne hosts her link up. Not only is popular with bloggers but it is typically a fun post to write and a great way to meet new bloggers. Anne’s blog is one of my favorites and she always shares the best of everything. I totally heart her!

Appreciating ~ What I’m really appreciating these days is my family. I just returned from a trip home to Iowa. I attended my uncle’s funeral and helped my parents as they moved into an assisted care facility. Life has really changed lately and it has brought to light just how much I love and appreciate my family. This is my family - my brother Tim with Dad {Jack} and Mom {Chick}.

Researching ~ Honestly, I have been brainstorming and researching ways I can venture out into a little side hustle. Should I try to become a certified trainer? What about selling Monat hair products {which I love}? Should I get certified as a Life Coach? What about creating my own graphic tees? Maybe selling makeup or skincare? I’m not sure but I have a desire to try something. I don’t have a desire to fail and that is what can trip me up. Researching though…

Posting ~ Well, I’m trying to get back to posting on a regular basis. I do love blogging and want to be more consistent each week. Blogging is fulfilling for me so I’m trying to balance my life a little better so I can post on the regular.

Getting ~ Oh, I’m getting super excited for Thanksgiving Break. Bring on next Friday and a week of no lesson plans but free time to fill with other things. What things? Does it matter? Just things other than being on schedule. I’m confident I’ll be taking a few naps though.

Cooking ~ I’ve got Thanksgiving meal on my brain. Will I cook at home? Not sure but regardless I’ll cook a turkey at some point. I’ve also had these Grain Free Muffins on my brain lately. It’s about time to start making and baking them again. ‘Tis the season for warm food.

Coffee Crumb Muffins

That’s what is up with me Currently. Can’t wait to read what’s on your Currently.

Have a great day!

Hugs, Carrie

That's great you're doing research on what kind of side "job" you'd want to do! It can be tough branching out and trying something, but I hope it all works out well for you with whatever you decide on. -Lauren www.shootingstarsmag.net

Sides hustles can be fun, but they can definitely be daunting too! So many different choices. Good luck finding something you enjoy! https://www.readsandtreats.com/currently-november/
  • You're so sweet! I'm thankful to have you in the blog lady crew :) I'm all about the warm foods right now too - just did our first batch of chili for the season, and I'm definitely going to have to try those muffins. Countdown to Thanksgiving break is on - only 2 weeks left!

Nothing like a little time with the family and some changes to make us realize what is most important. I'll bet you feel good knowing your parents are being well cared for; that is everything. Good luck with the side hustle. I sometimes think about it too but honestly the blog is the side hustle (I just wish it paid better, lol!). Those muffins look yummy - I love baking! xo, Kellyann
  • All those side hustles sound like fun--keep us posted on what you decide to go with if you do!! I have also had an interest in life coaching lately, although it's far from being side hustle territory for me... but maybe in the future! Those muffins look good, I'm going to go check out that recipe now!

I'm so glad that you left a comment on my blog so that I could discover yours. I'm glad that you had some family time, even if the occasion for being together was sad. Enjoy your T'giving break! I taught for 26 years and I know how badly a break is needed at this point in the year.
