Hello again, sweet readers! I hope you’re weekend was filled with joy and blessings. Did you do anything fun for Halloween? Maybe you ate too much candy or maybe not?! Maybe a costume party or not? I hope you ready for another week and I’m so grateful you are here. Thank you stopping by my little spot and reading my blog today. I am grateful for you, sweet readers.
Well, I did it! I finally decided to try a piece in the cold shoulder trend. I have hesitated for so long because truly cold shoulder means your shoulders are exposed. When my shoulders are exposed and cold the rest of me is cold. {I can’t sleep if my shoulders are not covered up because then I am cold. Can you relate?} But, I was gifted this piece by a sweet friend at Zaful, so I thought it would be fun to expose myself {literally} to and with the trend. Honestly, I’m kinda diggin’ it.
This top is a lightweight sweatshirt type material. It’s soft and comfy yet with the ruffle detail it can cross the lines with casual and work wear. Since everything seems to work with my favorite skinny jeans and new favorite leopard print flats, I put it together for a simple yet polished look. This is a something I would wear to a Saturday morning breakfast out and running errands afterwards.
For work, I could try a variety of pants or skirt options. Here’s one I would wear to the office.
This skirt was a recent purchase for fall from Loft. I’m typically not a Loft shopper because their pieces run a little too large for me. I was pleasantly surprised when on a whim I tried this on and it fit perfectly. The cut and fit work for my body type {straight}. I’m intrigued to try more pieces on in the future because Loft style is basically classic and for the most part that is my style. Do you know your body type and style? If not, here’s a Pinterest board that might be helpful to you.
When I first started to blog, I began to learn about a Capsule Wardrobe and I fell in love with the idea. Have fewer pieces and create new looks with them is something creative and challenging for me. All of these pieces have the potential to work in a capsule wardrobe. For example, if you follow Leanne at Classy Yet Trendy, you’ll find similar pieces in her Fall e-books. Personally, I think her capsules are the very best out there. I did purchase the 2016 Fall Workwear Capsule Wardrobe E-book, which can be found here. The 2016 Essential Fall Capsule Wardrobe E-book can be found here. These are great links to get you started if you want to create your own capsule wardrobe.
So do you have pieces that your love and can remix for casual and work? Obviously, not everything in my closet has that versatility but I want to be able to have that option available to me because it makes a good investment in my clothing and ease when getting dressed. Whether it’s a true capsule or a remixable wardrobe, I believe either option will serve you well. Are a capsule lady or a remixer? Maybe not…how would you describe your current wardrobe?
Now, here’s a recap of this post:
1. This top was gifted to me by Zaful. Although I totally love it, that is my opinion not something I was paid to say. The top is size medium for reference. You can find it here.
2. Invest wisely in pieces to have them reach across casual and work environments when possible, remembering not all pieces can have that versatility.
3. Check out the Pinterest board for help with your body type and style.
4. Check out Leanne’s Capsule Wardrobe E-books {Fall Essential and Fall Workwear} if your interested in going down that path for style needs.
5. My pieces or similar from this post can be found here:
{The Limited jeans // Zaful top // Loft skirt // Leopard print flats // black wedges}.
Thank you, Zaful for this fun and trendy top!
Have a lovely week, sweet readers!
