Fall Colors
Wait for it! Haven’t we all been waiting for it? Fall, is what I mean and with that comes with fall colors and beautiful leaves, pumpkins and yummy things baked in the oven. So many things to love and savor during this season but today for Create28 we’re talking about fall colors. I typically love the rich tones found in fall colors. For me they just exudes warmth and coziness.
Have you seen the colors Pantone chose for fall and winter? Surely you have but if not here they are.

Now with those colors as inspiration it should be much easier to create at least one new fall look. If you’re like me you probably have pieces in these colors or similar colors already in your closet.
Let’s Start Here:
- What fall colors do I already have in my closet?
- Are those pieces seasonally appropriate?
- Can I mix or layer anything?
- What type of look{s} do I want to create? {office, casual, church, date night, etc.}
Go time!
Here’s what I found just hanging around in my closet waiting for me to wear.
My inspiration was Biscay Bay {top} and Oak Bluff {skirt}. The top/tee is new but the skirt has been in my closet for several years. The color of the skirt actually runs along the mustard/gold range but fits into trendy colors this fall. I have seen quite a bit of goldish colors everywhere in stores lately. I added a scarf for a little visual interest but statement jewelry would also work for this look.
Jackets and sweaters or what is commonly called completer pieces work perfectly in transitional weather times of seasons. I added a denim jacket because who knows if a morning might be cool or any other venue at this time of year.
I replaced the top/tee with a 3/4 length cardigan for another fall color look. My inspiration here for color is the popular Marsalas even though this color is a little more in the purple hue. This jewel tone works with the skirt and again the scarf pulls the colors together.
For this look I simply buttoned up the cardigan and added the scarf rather than a cami or top under the cardigan. Honestly, I like this type of look and I wasn’t sure if I would when I first pulled it together.
These looks could be worn to work but the skirt could be changed out for other bottoms to create a more casual element to the look. How about some more inspiration for fall looks and fall colors? Check out our Pinterest board.
