Good morning, Sunshines! Was that extra hour of sleep simply glorious for you? I have to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m less thrilled when I lose an hour in the Spring but for now it feels like Fall is going to set in…finally. As I write this it is overcast and drizzling outside, there is Pumpkin Chili in the crock-pot and I am savoring that temps are not in the 80’s today. Makes me want to do cartwheels across the living room but I didn’t {yet}!
I dressed very casually for church and decided to have the hubby snap some photos before we jumped in the truck for our little trip for breakfast followed by a sweet worship service. I wore this simple and basic look.
Solids and neutrals are perfect pieces for any wardrobe because they provide oodles of options to remix. Since I chose a solid top and sweater, it provided a perfect opportunity for leopard print flats. I could have chosen booties and added some print with a scarf instead of a long necklace to create another look. I have always loved solids and neutrals because they are so versatile. For years that was my daily outfits pieces but in recent years I have added prints and I do enjoy the variety they provide. Do you have a balance of solids and prints in your wardrobe?
One thing that I have been working on lately is embracing things I love and choosing upgraded items. For example, I love a cross-body bag rather than a tote or satchel. I prefer a cross-body because of my size. A large bag can just overwhelm me. I was looking for a bag I loved. I finally decided on this Coach bag because the size is not too large and I love that it is neutral. I upgraded to Coach because I knew it would be a staple piece across seasons.
My other upgrades were these Kendra Scott earrings. Simple, classic and they go with everything. I recently replaced my leopard print flats because I truly wore out my other pair. These were recommended by Leanne at Classy Yet Trendy. They are Ivanka Trump from Nordstrom and were perfectly comfortable right out of the box.
My last upgrade were these sunglasses. Aviators are my favorite but after trying on Ray Bans, I wasn’t sold. They seemed a little flimsy to me. I chose Oakley instead. Now, my hubby ordered these for me and I agreed that I wanted gold frames but I wasn’t paying attention to the yellow lenses. I’m not totally in love with them but they are fabulous on a sunny day.
I typically haven’t been an upgrader but over time I have learned to buy something good and use it/wear it and LOVE it. Quality is something I have learned to embrace and not feel guilty about {most of the time}.
How about you? What have you upgraded that you LOVE?
Here’s where I’m linking up.
