The $10 Target Run

Target Run

Hello, friends! So glad you’re here today! I hope I’ll be back on my game this week. A lot of life has been happening in my family lately, which has taken my focus away from blogging. I apologize for being a little silent last week. We also got a puppy and that is like having a two-year-old and the hubby was on call for two weeks in a row and working a ton of overtime. Goodness….maybe some normalcy will work its way into life this week.

A few weeks ago during lunch, I decided to walk around Target. I think that is a good way to spend my lunch hour when I don’t have anything else to do. Then I remembered some bloggers post about their $10 Target Run so I decided that would be my focus. I found tons of cute things…

Every single time I’m in Target, I check out to what is on clearance for workout wear. Always a necessity. Cute top for $8.98

I also check out the clearance rack. Cute top for $6.88.

Right by the clearance rack, I spied some cute earrings.

I headed to home goods and a stop by the new Magnolia items.

I might “need” a new coffee cup.

What about office supplies and the $1.00 section? Always good stuff in those places.

Let me be super honest here, friends. I love Target! Ours was recently remodeled and it’s gorgeous. I can always spend time walking around and finding great little things to buy. Sometimes they are needed and sometimes not. For this trip the constraint was $10, so how would I spend it? I didn’t want to go over and I didn’t want to just buy stuff. So I went the practical route.

We seem to always need pens. I broke my only spatula and I already needed a second one, so that was a no-brainer. Markers/highlighters are perfect for my lettering goal. I did go over by a few cents even with my RedCard but I think I scored! I did want to buy a few of the other items but sometimes being practical is the best answer.

Thanks for reading friends! Enjoy the day and hope Spring is busting out in your area real soon!

Be blessed! ~ Carrie

I don't go to Target often enough! Thanx for the tour! I need some pens for a church mission effort. After 40+ years of using a blender, I am FINALLY chewing up spatulas at a slower rate; they used to be an annual Christmas gift that I needed! Be great to see if Target in Maine has the same treasures!
    • Oh, I hope you find some great treasures at your Target!
  • Our Target store recently remodeled, too, but the haven't had as much luck as you have! Happy Monday, Carrie!
    • That's too bad! Ours is so much better since the remodel.
  • New kitchen utensils are always a fun!
    • I love kitchen stuff!
  • Wandering around Target is an excellent use of a lunch hour - I always find it so recharging anyway, but extra fun when you treat yourself to some little goodies for $10 or less. I always check the clearance workout gear first too, and I'm a total sucker for some good kitchen utensils :)
    • I agree! Best lunch time ever!
  • I'm so in love with Target. It's definitely my favorite store. I love the pearl earrings and and the spatulas you picked. Have you checked out my Project 62 picks from Target on my blog? And I definitely love the Target's Dollar Spot section. So many good things there.
    • I am loving Project 62 and I'll have to find your post. Thanks for letting me know.
  • Kellyann
Oh Target how I love thee!!! Such a dangerous but fun place! xo, Kellyann
    • Agreed on both statements. LOL
  • I like that you mixed function with a little bit of fun! I can't wait to see your lettering projects!
    • I hope to get some great lettering together soon. It is so on my heart!
  • We never seem to have enough pens around either.
    • They just seem to disappear like they have feet.
  • I've been spending less time at Target, and I don't know why!
    • Take yourself on date to Target, get a coffee and browse. You'll be glad you did.

Our only Target is about 25 miles from me and not on my beating path when I "go to town." And, I hate that because I do love Target. Have a great week!
    • That is a bummer. Target is just the best!
  • Laura
I'm a practical girl at heart so I am glad to see you went practical with your purchases! I need a new spatula too, they always seem to crack on the edges after a couple of years. I'll have to check out Target's!
    • I really like them and especially since they are grey.
  • Katie Mullins
I've never been more proud of myself than when I ONLY spent $10 at Target one time. I've only done it once, and I don't think I'll ever be able to do it again. That place is so GLORIOUS!!
    • It's like my happy place!!
  • Target has so many options for under $10! You totally got what you needed which is actually the best way to spend your money! http://www.mylittlenest.org
    • I agree! Forcing myself to only spend $10 helped me focus on getting what I need instead of want.
  • Oh wow - a new puppy! They really can keep you busy, that is for sure! You definitely did well on your Target run. I always enjoy finding a bargain. Thank you so much for sharing this post with The Hearth and Soul Link Party, Carrie. Hope you are having a lovely week!

Don't have a Target nearby, but your post makes me wish I did.
  • Sometimes I think I'm too practical for my own good. HA! I mostly amazed that you only had one spatula...lol. I've got a drawer full. I love spatulas.
