Friday Five: The Best Posts

friday favorites(2)

TGIF, right?! Lately, I’m always thrilled when it’s Friday. Work has been especially stressful for several months and that makes me both happy and thankful every time I wake up on Friday. When Friday rolls around it also means it’s the day of the week when lots of bloggers share their favorites. This week I’m sharing the favorite posts that I read.

Before I begin, I want to share a little piece of my heart. I think blogging is one of the highlights of my life right now. I enjoy people that I have connected with through this medium. I love reading blogs and finding new ones but truthfully sometimes I find it hard to balance it all in blogland. Some weeks I’m on top of my game better than others. That is life, right?! This week has been more manageable and I’ve read some great post that I want to share today.

Alex at The Cheerful Closet wrote a post and shared lots of photos to document Kansas City Fashion Week. I have to confess I was a little envious. I really want to attend a fashion show some day but I was able to live vicariously through her via this post. I also thought she looked beautiful in this outfit.

I have always loved mustard {not the condiment – I hate that mustard}. I had a mustard cardigan that I loved and then I found a hole in it so I had to let it go. I thought I would pass and not purchase another one but I keep seeing them all over blogs right now. This post from The Horton Family has pushed me over the edge. I’m finding me a new mustard cardigan! So many great looks but this first look just started the whole thing for me…

¬†Through the Fierce 50 campaigns I have started following Catherine Grace O‘s blog. This week she shared a great post about these beautiful young ladies who blog at The District Darlings. They are millenials and quite accomplished at their young ages. Please check them out! Oh, and this photo totally caught my eye in my Bloglovin’ feed. It is fabulous!

Emily at Darling Dearest is one my favorite bloggers. I say that because I think I would love to sit down with her and chat over a cup of coffee one day or any day. I love her honesty and this post {Why I Took a Break}. I heard her heart and her words to me and for me…to my heart.

On Wednesday, I was hosting a link up for the Common Threads Challenge. Through the link up I found a new blog {What Nicole Wore}. I loved her post about How to Deal with Body Insecurities. Disclaimer: Please don’t hate me for what I’m about to say. I have been struggling with eating poorly, adding a new pounds and feeling very insecure because of it. At 54 I still have body image issues. Nicole’s post was a great read for me and I’m grateful she linked up.

That’s my five for this week. I hope you’ll read them and love them as much as I did. Have a great weekend. I’ll meet you back Monday…at least I hope I will.

Be blessed! ~ Carrie

  • Hi Carrie - just found you through Anna's link up party. I'm a 50+ blogger too - but I focus more on life and happiness and less on fashion (still enjoyed seeing your five favourites though) and off to check out Darling Dearest. I'll be back to read more :) Leanne |
