My Reintroduction: 2018

I am excited to participate in the post prompt for today from The Blended Blog. It’s re-introduction time. Getting to share a little about myself in a re-intro gives me the opportunity to reflect on where I’ve been as a blogger and where I now.

I started this blog to develop my style. I also wanted to curb my shopping and maybe have a capsule wardrobe. Another vision I had for this was to share my life and faith. Have I done those things, I asked myself? Well, sort of but I haven’t quite developed my blog in the manner that I have a vision for it in the beginning. It’s a work in process and changes as life changes.

A little about me: Currently, I’m 54 years old. It’s hard for me to believe that number because I don’t feel that age at all. I love fitness and being challenged but lately, it’s been a struggle for me. No worries, I will get it together because being fit is a lifestyle I love. That leads to the truth that I like to eat healthy too. Don’t get me wrong though - I’ve never met a cookie I didn’t like. I enjoy reading and conversations over coffee. I can definitely come on too strong because deep connects are where it’s at for me. I’ve been told I have lots of words. I would agree with that completely. I’m married and it will be 24 years in October. I have one grown and moved away from home daughter. One cat and recently we added a puppy. I’m a former teacher and now work as an Admin Asst {no further comment on that is needed}. Let’s go to this thing I’ll call a blogging adventure.

Style. That’s what got me into blogging. One of the first blogs I found was Greater than Rubies. I did several remix challenges with Caitlin. That’s how I met my longest blogging friend, Whitney {Whitney ‘a La Mode}. Not too long after those challenges, I found Get Your Pretty On and the wheels were set in motion to meet many of the fabulous ladies who make up The Blended Blog.

A few looks from the first Spring Style Challenge with Get Your Pretty On.

I learned a few things: I can wear bright-colored pants and white ones too. Sometimes thrifting is a great option. Maxi skirts are fabulous and scarves make a great accessory. All those things happened 4 years ago. And style-wise I’ve been a little lost or I might say disinterested lately, but I think that’s about to change because I’m going to participate in a little beta launch university to overhaul my closet and give me some one-on-one help. More to come on that one.

Sometimes I share about fitness and food. I’m passionate about those things but I don’t write too about it that often. I think that needs to change this year. Always take a selfie to document your journey and your sweat, of course.

I’ve started writing about books I’ve read and those posts get me excited. I’m really into books lately. You can read those posts here.

Sharing my faith and the journey of life is what I love the most. Again, I’m the person who likes to go deep and personal. I love honesty and vulnerability in people. I’m never afraid to hear people’s junk. All my faith posts can be found here. One of my favorite posts that I wrote about faith was on the topic of grace. You can read it here.

Well, I hope you learned a little about me today and I’m grateful you stopped by. Hope to hear from you today! By the way, this is what’s going on with The Blended Blog during April.

Have a great day!

Be blessed! ~ Carrie

Hey girl, HEY! Love this post and cannot wait to read your stuff even more! We share the fitness love (and I'm addicted so yeah...issues LOL!) Your puppy!!! xox
    • Thanks for stopping by Amanda. Hope to get to know you better.
  • Carrie I've been following along for several years and while I don't make it for every single post I definitely feel like you share all these things well. If I remember correctly you changed your blog name to A Stylish Fit from something else...maybe? I think it's a perfect fit for you. We are too close not to meet one day so I hope we make it happen! • You're good. Yes, I started my blog as A Lovely Little Wardrobe but it was too many words and I didn't (and don't) want to be limited to a style blogger.
  • Kellyann
I learned something we have in common today - my husband and I will be married 24 years this October as well! I think you are a beauty Carrie and your love of health and fitness is evident, I 'd love to hear more about how you stay so fabulous! xo, Kellyann

  • It's hard to believe that we go all the way back to Caitlin's posts! How long has it been?? I'm so thankful to have you in my life and to have witnessed your blog as it involves to be more and more "you" every day!
  • So appreciate how you have evolved from a style blogger to one who blogs about some pretty heavy duty things. Like Whitney said below, I believe A Stylish Fit is becoming more and more YOU!!
  • I definitely agree that blogging makes us vulnerable and I enjoy reading blogs/posts that the bloggers are real and genuine. I love yours, too, Carrie! Thank you for being honest and letting us see a little glimpse into your world.
