TBB Asks: Spring Edition

Hello, friends! Happy April to all. I love April and it’s promise of Spring. Things are turning green, the sun is out, the skies are blue, flowers are blooming and birds are singing. Ok, not every day but it is happening. Although April can be a dicey month in Texas. It’s the one that holds the most promise of nasty storms with hail and even tornados. No, I’m not fond of that April but I’m hoping for a mind one with showers to water the grass, gardens, and flowers. We’ll see what happens.

It’s no fooling that yesterday was Easter. That is not an April Fools at all but instead, a feel blessing with the promise fulfilled with a resurrected Savior. I hope you enjoyed your day.

And today is the first Monday of the month which means it’s TBB Asks. These posts are so fun because participation continues to grow. It’s a great way to meet new bloggers and learn so much about them. Can’t wait to read blogs today {or tonight after work} and meet some friends.

1. 3 colors for Spring - Green for all things that are growing again, white and pink.

2. For Spring, I add skirts and dresses because I rarely wear them when the temps dip.

3. Spring means I’m ditching winter coats and gloves.

4. No one at our house mows grass anymore because the HOA takes care of that one. If we had to mow, it would not be me.

5. Spring is just like a described above. Sunny skies, green grass, warm temps and oh I forgot to mention wind. The winds of Spring in Texas can be horrendous. They about blow me away. Have I mentioned that I dislike wind? I do. A warm breeze is delightful though.

6. What I love about Spring is seeing the dormant world come back to life.

7. I’m a sort of Spring cleaner. I tend to do a little deeper cleaning but it’s not set in stone as a must. It just happens organically when the windows are open and the air is fresh. That totally motivates me to make it happen.

8. I like baseball but not a diehard fan.

9. Tulips are my all-time favorite flower.

10. Does sitting on the patio with a cup of coffee and a book count as an activity? Ok, that’s my favorite.

11. I like flowers both ways. My husband built some flower boxes for me and I’m excited to fill them. They will hang on our fence. I love this idea.

12. My favorite bird is the cardinal. The male is the red one and I love it because it was my grandma’s favorite.

13. Car Wash, baby. I love the new automatic ones that pull you through and do all the work.

14. I’ll pull out sandals when the temps are consistent at 75 or 80. My feet are always cold and I don’t like cold feet. However, I will be barefoot all the time inside the house at this point forward.

Alrighty then. That’s all I have today. If you haven’t seen what’s coming up on The Blended Blog then take a look at these graphics. Hope you’ll join us!

Have a great week, friends!

Be blessed! ~ Carrie

  • Living on Cloud Nine
I love that tulips are your all time flower. I'm going to paint a bunch of bulbs in the Fall for next Spring a sweater have lots of areas to put them now. Hope you had a wonderful Easter!! Have a super Monday week start pretty lady!
    • I wish tulips were the thing here in Texas but I rarely see them. They always signified Spring when I lived in Iowa.

Rejoicing with you in our risen Savior!! I hope your Easter was a lovely one! I enjoyed reading your answers. Reading on the patio absolutely counts as an activity in my book, and a wonderful one at that! Happy spring! - Brenda // ChattingOverChocolate.com
    • He has risen indeed! Thank you for stopping by today, Brenda!

Enjoyed your answers and always enjoy linking up with you fun gals. Yes, coffee and reading on the patio sounds like a winner to me for sure. Happy new week to you!
    • Love sitting on the patio with coffee. Wish I could do it year round but thankful it's getting to the time of year that I can.
  • Sitting on the patio with a cup of coffee and a book should TOTALLY count. In fact, make that my favorite too, when the weather is good enough for that I'm a happy girl. I love adding skirts and dresses to my closet in spring too.
    • We think so much alike, Shea! Love that!
  • Coffee and book all the way- I cannot wait until I can do that.
  • Tulips are my favorite too - when they are bundled up tight together? So beautiful!
    • I wish their blooming season was longer but for me they always shout it's Spring!
  • Oh I love tulips too! But I can't have them because my cat ruins them immediately!
    • That's so sad. They are just the most beautiful flower!
  • I'm always so scared of tornadoes. We had one dip down a few miles north of us one year and to this day we can still tell what path it took due to the tree line. We get lots and lots of wind living here on the lake and I have to agree i am much more a fan of light gentle breezes.
    • This is the scary season for sure. I know there will be days I'll be hiding somewhere away from windows during the month of April. It's a given here in TX.

I love sitting on the patio with a book as well!
    • One of the best things about a pretty spring day!
  • tulips might be my fave too, they're just so pretty and fresh and colourful. What's not to love?
    • They always ushered in spring when I was growing up in Iowa.

Ugh, we can have some tornados and hail here too. Yes, sitting on patio/porch and reading is definitely an activity. Happy week!
    • Spring weather is really unpredictable and can be so severe but when it's not, it's beautiful.

Oh, I just hate tornados and nasty storms! When Nathan was a newborn, I was home alone and we had really bad straight line winds and a glass vase actually fell down and shattered in one of our INTERIOR bathrooms! Talk about scary, being downstairs and hearing that! The power was out for over a week! Ever since then, I do get some storm anxiety... for the really bad ones. Yuck. Thankfully, we haven't had a storm that bad since then and that was 11 years ago! I should make a habit of sitting outside with a cup of hot coffee and a book this Spring... that sounds so relaxing and good for the soul! Carrie curlycraftymom.com
    • That is incredible about the vase! Scary too! I have a little storm anxiety because of the massive hail storm and tornadoes that went through our city a few years ago. We did get a new roof out of the deal.
  • You need to come visit during tulip season and we'll go visit the tulip fields. Miles and miles of beautiful tulips!
    • Oh my gosh! That would be my happy place.
  • I love the weather when I can finally sit out on the deck in the morning!
  • I absolutely love tulips! #BloggerClubUK
    • They are so beautiful!
  • I love that green is the color that makes you think of spring. That makes so much sense! Mine are pastels, I think.
    • It's so much better than brown or white. :)
  • Happy April Carrie! I love seeing everything come back to life in Spring too. It's a gorgeous season. Thanks for joining us for the #Dreamteam linky.
