Week One: CTC

It’s here! Today is the first link-up for Common Thread Challenge. I’m excited to reveal the pieces that I’ve chosen to use to remix throughout my wardrobe. They look something like these but you’ll see the real things throughout this month.

CTCMy choices are:

black skinny pants, white and black striped tee, black skater skirt, chambray shirt and mules.

My first look on Sunday consisted of wearing only the mules from the chosen pieces. I wore this look to church.

On the way home from church, we made a stop at a really cool place in town. We didn’t have the big camera but an iPhone will definitely work in a pinch. So this is what happened!

Fun mural wall, isn’t it? We have a few of these around town. That’s what happens when you live in a college town full or artists.

Day two looked like this one. Mules again and I added the black skater skirt.

Day three looked like this. Yes, I wore the red twice. Yes, I wore the mules every day so far. And yes, I probably will realize that I have too many clothes at the end of this challenge. But I’m not ready to say that today. {Smiling}

Woohoo. so CUTE!! Red is one fabulous color on you gorgeous woman!! And LOVE the mural wall for a backdrop!
  • Love that mural...so much fun, just like you!
    • Awww ... thank you, friend!
  • I love how classic and remixable your pieces are! I look forward to seeing your creativity shine through with these pieces. Oh, and I really want those mules.
    • I think I bought them at DSW. They are Franco Sarto. My shoe love is Franco Sarto.
  • I thought about doing a black skirt instead, but decided to go a different route since I already had my black blazer. What a fun place to take pictures!
    • Good choice! I love the skirt you picked.
  • You look adorbs in the skater skirt!!
  • Such a fun mural and made for a great impromptu photo shoot! Loving the outfits so far, your mules look great on you! Brooke pumps and push-ups
  • I love the idea of this challenge! I am trying out a little 10 pieces x 10 outfits challenge right now myself, and I have very similar things going over here - lots of black & white with a bit of denim and some stripes - so it will be fun to see what you do. Love love love those mules and the cool factor they bring to a simple outfit. That red top is fab too. I have no problem wearing favorites over and over :)
    • Thank you, Anne! Since I totally love your style your comment was super encouraging!
  • Love those mules--I can see why you want to wear them every day! I'm finding that a lot of the outfits I've come up with so far involve 2 of my 5 pieces, which means I chose my pieces wisely...but also that I have way more clothes than I need!
    • I know I have way more clothes than I need too. I find it get bored wearing the same over and over again and even remixing. Always been an issue with me.

OK my friend you look fabulous in red. I love that we each chose a pair of skinnies, a skirt, a pair of shoes, a v-neck tee and a layering piece (you have the chambray and I have the long cardigan). Great minds think alike!
    • Thank you, Ada! Yes, ma'am on the great minds. :)
