Happy first March Monday! How is March treating you so far friends? In my neck of the woods it looks and feels like Spring. I’m thankful for the budding trees, chirping birds and evidence of things about to turn green. We planted our garden last weekend and I’m anxiously awaiting evidence of little bitty plants popping up. Spring is such a glorious season but oh so short here in Texas. Note to self: enjoy the short little moments of Spring because it will be HOT so very soon.
Well, it’s been forever since I shared anything in the work wear/business wear vein. So I went back to last year and pulled a couple of looks from March that were appropriate for the office I worked in at that time. A couple of transition looks during a month of weather uncertainty. Cool one day and warm the next…but this green blouse and hounds tooth pants look will definitely work for this season.
As you’re probably aware I have been talking about discovering your personal style and developing looks you love during the winter season. Do these looks define my style? Well, a year after wearing these I’m asking myself, “Would I wear these looks again?” The answer is probably not. I purged the blouse because I only wore it a couple of times and didn’t love it. The skirt is gone and pants are in a pending pile.
This is where I have to decide what is really me. Have you had to do this? Have you worked through pieces that you thought you loved only to determine you didn’t? That has been the case for me with lots of pieces. Last year I created these looks from a Pinterest inspiration. What I learned is I might like a look and be able to recreate it but that does not mean that it’s me. J’s Everyday Fashion was my inspiration. She created a great look but in the end it just wasn’t really me.
On another note, I have been wanting to linkup with my friend Shaunacey {Simply Shaunacey} for her Monday Moment’s of Gratitude. Since I always want to participate {and I hope you will as well}, I decided to include at least one thing I’ve been grateful for this past week. I have to say that last week was hard for me. I felt like everything I touched at work was a disaster. I have also felt a little behind in other ways which caused me to feel stressed. But on Saturday I was able to spend some sweet time with a young woman I am mentoring. I was so encouraged and was refocused after our conversation. Those are truly the moments I live for…pouring into the lives of others and talking through life as the Lord would have us live. What are you grateful for right now or last week? Hope you’ll stop and read all the posts at Simply Shaunacey.

And since it’s Monday, it’s time for our link-up. Thanks to everyone who joined in last week. Whitney and I enjoyed reading your posts and searching for our favorite looks. Can’t wait to see what you lovely ladies link up this week.
Each week we choose a favorite…check out Whitney’s blogs to see if it’s you! My favorite last week was a post by Hilary at Embellishments. So glad you linked up Hilary because I really enjoyed perusing around your blog. This look is absolutely fabulous! I hope you’ll stop by and read her post here.

I also want to share my next style venture which began last week. We had a great turnout and lots of you linked up. Thank you so much for your support! Again, The Blended Blog is hosting this style challenge and I will be participating each week. The prompts are listed below and you can see my style here each Wednesday and how others style the prompt on The Blended Blog. Hope you’ll join in and share your looks on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #theblendedblogstyle . It should be a blast!
I don’t always link up but when I do here’s where you’ll find me linking up.
