Currently: May 2018

Well, hello May! Glad you’re here and I hope you’ll be sunny and warm. I hope your May is unfolding with some pretty promises of Spring. Today I’m Co-hosting Currently with Anne in Residence. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…this is one of favorite link-up each month. I love the simplicity of these posts and finding new bloggers to read and follow. I hope you’ll find someone new to follow too.

Celebrating ~ We are celebrating the addition of a dog into our lives. Yes, we are fur baby parents. Gracie arrived in March and is a rescue from the local shelter. She is getting so big and my husband has been having so much fun training her. The other day I caught her breaking the rules…she’s not supposed to be on the furniture.

This was her in March…oh yeah, she’s growing! Yep, she’s going to be BIG!!!

Creating ~ My husband and I have been working on creating an updated kitchen. We are super happy with the results. This was in the middle when he was repainting the cupboards. They are now the lighter color and so pretty.

Wearing ~ I thought by now I’d be in skirts and dresses everyday because the temps would be warmer. But alas that is simply not true this year. I’m still wearing mostly pants. I’m still wearing my ugly shoes too because I cannot find any new ones that I like.

Sharing ~ Honestly, I have not been sharing much on my blog. Friends, you know sometimes there is a slump or a writer’s block. That has hit me hard and I really don’t like it. I haven’t known what to say on my own blog or even comments when I’m reading others. I hope that is behind me because I love engaging with readers and other bloggers.

Going ~ Lately we have been going to a new church. I’m super excited about it because I believe we have found our church home. We’ve been looking and displaced for quite some time now so this is progress.

Well, that was short and sweet, wasn’t it? Can’t wait to read your posts!

    • We are so smitten with her. Hugs beautiful lady!
  • Congrats on getting a new dog! And I thought I would have long since been in dresses, but up until this week it's been freezing! Love your outfits and style :)

When we got our puppy 9 years ago we had all kinds of rules but they have all been broken because we love her and spoiled her, lol! There's nothing like the unconditional love of a dog, I swear my dog is always so happy to see me it's like I'm the best person in the world to her! I can't wait to see your completed kitchen, it's exciting! Congrats on finding a new church, it feels good to find a church home! xo, Kellyann
    • I love that little dog so much. We cannot help but spoil her. My husband said she is my dog because she loves cookies and chips. Oh, no we have indulged her already in human food.
  • Gracie is such a cutie!! <3 Dogs make life so happy!
    • Dogs really do make life happier.
  • Gracie a so cute! And yay for a new church home. We are actually thinking about switching. Ben to a new church the last few weeks and like it so far. Hopefully you get out of your rut!!
    • We love her! Hope you find a great church home too. Yes, I need to get back on my blogging game.
  • How adorable is Gracie?! She has such a sweet face--hard to be mad at a face like that. Our dog isn't supposed to be on the couch either but she sure does like to sneak down at night while we're all asleep and sleep there. Sigh. I totally get the slump and have definitely been there. Just take care of yourself and keep doing things that make you happy and hopefully in that you'll find some inspiration. :)
    • Shea, thank you for your kind words of encouragement.

Gracie's ears have popped up - I love it when they do that. Our Boston Terrier had one ear pop before the other - so cute! xx
    • Oh my goodness...those ears. If she grows into them she going to be BIG.
  • Gracie's ears are the absolute cutest! And yay for finding a good church fit! Justin and I are still looking but I'm looking forward to that feeling of being at home.
    • She is such a sweetheart. I hope you two find a place to plant - you will but it does take time. Keep trying.
  • Your new pup is so cute!!!
  • The question is what did you do when you caught Gracie on the furniture. Because I'd laugh which doesn't help in obedience, I bet.... And we are planning on painting our cabinets this summer...I'm glad to hear you're loving it!! XOXO Jodie www.jtouchofstyle.com
    • Great question. I told her to get down and she cocked her head at me like she didn't understand a word I said. I had to laugh. Bad parenting. :)
  • Thanks for hosting with me - so lovely to have you! Especially when it comes with cute puppy photos :) She really is getting big, but still so cute - that white fur is so pretty. Also yay for white cabinets. Soooo much work to paint them, but worth it in the end!
    • Thanks for having me co-host. This is one of my favorite link-ups. That little dog has completely stolen our hearts.

What a cute pup! And would you loan out your husband to come redo my cabinets? We redid our kitchen counters 2 years ago but the cabinets could certainly be refinished because they are too dark!
    • He would so do it! It really wasn't all that hard or time consuming. We love that doggie so much.
  • Amy
